Plot: Farming family battles severe storms, a bank threatening to reposses their farm, and other hard times in a battle to save and hold on to their farm.
It's been a long time since I have seen this movie but it was pretty good! If you like Mel Gibson and you haven't seen it yet, you should. Mel in his younger days. *sighs* ;-)
I can only think of right now my favorite. I always watch that in the summer. All of what these people have to go through to keep living on their farm is what it is all about. Since my Turtle (son) works on an island near the river what better movie to watch.
Havnt seen this movie in years...have to rewatch it*smiles* But I do remember watching it more than once
Just a good emotionally-charged film celebrates the triumph of a young rural couple as they face nature's greatest ravages, the threat of poverty and a wrenching separation.
Mel Gibson is a Very Good Actor..Sissy Spacek does a good job in this one too...I Love this Movie...!!!!
i dont know if it was just the day but i have never cried so hard in a movie when i watched this. makes you appreciate the blue collar people.
Man against Nature...bet this isn't what Mel had in mind when they said, Hey Mel you get to get "sloshed" in this movie!
Gibson continued with his great acting in this drama that pairs him with great actress Sissy Spacek, a farm, and a lot of rain. I hate that this guy went nuts.
A great and often overlooked project, pitting man against nature and being determined not to lose to it.
