  First time I've actually seen this uncut it seems as allot of the swearing and violence...err I've never seen before hehe. Clint teams up with a slightly chubby yet fresh faced Charlie Sheen to take down the nasty yet comically dastardly looking Raul Julia in this by the numbers cops v baddies buddie action flick. It shows how my taste has changed as I recall loving this when I was a teen but watching it now it really is quite lame with terrible performances from everyone, Clint is just 'Dirty Harry' again albeit with more humorous dialog and Sheen is just Sheen like he is in every film he's made. We move from setup to setup as the good guys plod along piecing together evidence whilst getting into all manner of outrageous problems and taking various body blows. Lots of shooting n missing, stereotypical bad guy characters and one very good car stunt out of a building and voila! your typical Saturday night takeaway 80's/90's action flick, Sheen for the young and Clint for the old.

  Ok, so this isn't exactly a great action movie, nor is it a great character study. It has some charm to it though. The score, first of all, is completely out of a 70's action film, and it must be heard to be believed. Seeing Charlie Sheen destroy a bar is a hoot, as is Clint Eastwood getting "raped." I'm not quite sure why I like because I know it's definitely not perfect, but it's interesting nonetheless. If nothing else to see Sheen and Eastwood do a flick together.

  Seems to be one of Eastwood's lesser liked titles, but I actually liked it a good bit, which wasn't surprising to me. Good movie in my book.

  Witless, cliched nonsense in which all life's problems are dealt with using a liberal dose of extreme violence and a dickless love of fast automobiles. Offensive testosterone infused crap that I can only assume was the result of Clint having a severe mid-life crisis.

  This is lightweight material done many times before with veteran cop teaming with rookie cop and them learning a lot from each other. In this case, grizzled cop Nick Pulvarski is thrown together with rich boy Charlie Sheen as they hunt down auto thieves who killed Nick's partner. Sheen and Eastwood destroy LA as they bring down Raul julia and SOnia Braga. It has plenty of action and violence, thin on plot but a decent cop movie.

  A bad-ass veteran cop Nick Pulovski (Clint Eastwood) gets stuck with rookie David Ackerman (Charlie Sheen) as his partner when his other is killed by a German criminal named Strom (Raul Julia). David is a stiff and a coward but when Nick is taken hostage by Strom, it's up to Nick to save him. The Rookie might as well have been a Dirty Harry film since Eastwood's Nick is exactly like Harry, except that he's addicted to cigars. While Harry had a new partner after one is killed, pretty much in all of them. And I found it silly that Nick gets promoted when he doesn't follow the rules and makes up his own. I also found it dumb how quickly David's personality changes into Nick's as soon as Nick is taken hostage. The movie is still mildly entertaining though if you turn off your brain and have nothing better to watch.
