The Royal Family
Aging actress Fanny Cavendish (Eve Le Gallienne) dreams of returning to Broadway while her successful daughter, Julie (Rosemary Harris), considers abandoning the acting profession. The plot thickens when Julie's film star brother, Tony (Ellis Rabb), returns home with problems of his own. Written by successful playwrights Edna Ferber and George S. Kaufman, this comedy explores the interesting relationships within the famous Cavendish clan.

Critic Reviews from Rotten Tomatoes

"So while the Kaufman-Ferber script is just a crème de menthe, this particular revival of the 1927 hit is a fine example of how to faithfully bring a stage production to the screen."
