Logic is not exactly the strong point in this well-acted, stylish, theological grab bag, but the random collection of horrific images manages to work more often than not. An acceptable time waster for fans of The Omen and The Exorcist. Also starring Michael Biehn (The Terminator), the always welcome John Heard in a brief cameo, and the exceptional Jürgen Prochnow as a mysterious stranger who could either be from the extreme North or way, way down South. --Andrew Wright

Before my conversion, I thought this was a Christian movie, and I would have rated it five stars because of the emotional impact it had on me (when it was over, I cried for about a quarter of an hour the first time I saw it, the same as with the second time I saw "The Age of Innocence".)

Now that I have some knowledge of Church doctrine, I would describe it as a Jewish gnostic movie, which is not exactly the same thing, and I am not altogether comfortable with its theology.

It remains however a very impressive apocalypse story.

Oh man this was terrible. God sure goes through a lot of trouble to end the world for demi moore to just painlessly give her life to her baby to save mankind. For no reason the 'Guf' becomes magically full again, and that's that. It started with potential and by the end it felt like the filmmakers had to end it and make it a happy ending when it really shouldn't have.

The description here on Flixster uses wise words: "Time waster". It isn't horrible, in any way. Demi Moore is beautiful. The last scenes I love, the quake things. That's all I love, the rest is just "cute", surprisingly NOT cheesy.

This movie I felt was so unbiblical, but I watched it. Demi Moore was really pregnant during this. She is so talented and beautiful. And it was great to see the man who played her husband as an actor. It was a good movie. Just twisted.

It's an okay movie. Kind of slow majority of the time, but all in all it had a very interesting storyline.

I love this one. How can you go wrong with a mix of the end of the world, and historical religion refrences.

Good Movie. Is it possible for the world to end without people knowing? My favorite line; 'Will you die for him?' , talk about a test of your Faith. Loved it.

Interesting story telling, solid performance by Moore and one of my all time favourite actors Biehn. Just lacked the execution to make this a great film, lame ending

You don't see very many movie releases dealing with the sacrifce of a child to prevent the end of the world from taking place. The Stephen King film, Storm of the Century, is the opposite. The chosen child takes the place of the devil so that the world can go on living.

What would you do if you potentially could save the world from destruction? As the prophecies come to fruition, Demi Moore has to answer that question. Watch this movie and see how the kindness/sacrifices of one can affect everybody.

uuuuuhhhhhh!!! I saw this ages ago and the one good thing I remeber was the glass clock on a door and that being the super duper clue to the whole plot.

You don't have to be religious to get scared by this concept. The end of humanity. A really good film.

A pretty compelling film about the Book of Revelations from the Holy Bible, that unfortunately, like just about every Hollywood film of this type, is completely ignorant of the source material.

This movie is a sign in itself of our times and belief in the unknown and our own strengths.
