Waiting for the stupid producer to come up with the brainstorm of starring Jet Li and Jean Claude Van Damme in the same movie. Imagine how many one-word syllables will be in THAT script.
this is wicked. jet li plays a monk and.................... only thing is the quality of the movie (images) are old maybe renharnse it
the opposite of Romeo Must Die - this is a terrible looking movie with incredible, real martial arts performances.
this is just like watching the original Drunken Master -- terrible movie but watching the ultra-young mega-star is pretty sweet.

I love this film!! Jet Li looks sooo hot in this flick!!!!!! and his moves~~!!!!
Those who tried to make similiar films after this one, without Jet Li is non-comparsion from it!! Jet Li RULES~~!!!!
Because there is only one. High up in the Himalayas, where none can find it.
...Or something like that.
Jet Li is a little string bean looking about 18 years old or so. An ironic scene that pokes fun at the vegetarian nature of the monks ends with a girl's dog being eaten. Hilarious! Also some early scenes of the beginning of Jet Li's masterful martial arts in which his prowess is evident.
Awsome martial arts movie! No wires, doubles, nor special effects here, just kung fu experts and Jet Li at their physical prime. This is a cant miss CLASSIC!
I remember watching this a few times when I was 5 or 6... Awesome times!
It's an ancient made-in-china martial arts film about a love story set around the Shaolin Temple... since the main character ended up being a monk, the love story ended with a pretty poopy ending, but who cares about the love story when you get to see a teen-age Jet Li kick ass?
p.s. Just read the Synopsis and they mentioned a revenge of some sort... it's funny that I didn't really remember the revenge part, only the love story part...
but love story? in a martial arts flick?
