I haven't read the book(s). Perfect for the tween/teenage girl set. A little cheesy & predictable here & there. Tamblyn has the best character development & story line. Both Bledel & Ferrera give decent performances. You try really hard to like Lively throughout the movie, but her character is just too aggressive with NO substance. The flashbacks are somewhat cute. Not quite sure about wearing the same pair of pants as all my girl friends, but I do want to see the sequel.
4 friends, Carmen,Bridget,Lena and Tibby about to spend their first summer apart from another, find a pair of pants that magically fits four of their different dress sizes. The girls decide to share the pants as a way of being together. It symbolises a great meaning of friendship..I hope to have that pants one day..
Awww gawd!! How cool is this movie! Dam I loved this, another one I for some dumb reason had no interest in seeing. It was so good.I have to stop doing that I am missing way too many really good movies. If you haven't seen this check it out, awesome chick flick!
I actually only got this on DVD was one, Blake Lively was in it and two, it was £5.
So magically, these 4 different sized girls could fit in the same pair of jeans. If only that could happen. Blake is like 6' and America is like 5'2? (Just estimates btw).
They all go off in the Summer and they send each other the jeans as they think it will bring each of them good luck.
I liked the whole Romeo and Juliett thing with Lena (Bledel). Bridget was very interesting as she has lost her mother. And yeah...
I liked Tibby's story the most. She and her friend Bailey. I cried when she died. SO SAD. I actually got a tissue!
Overall I didn't think it was that good but it was watchable.
Four best friends plan to stay in touch with one another as their summer plans keep them worlds apart, by passing around a pair of jeans that fits each of their bodies perfectly. A great adaption.
I was suprised by how much I really love this film, when I saw the poster and read the description I thought its going to be a real cheese on toast of a movie.
Even though you could say that it is in a way, but in a way thats adorable that highlights the importance that is friendship. It focuses on a group of four best friends who have known eachother practically since birth, who are seperating for the first time for the summer and just before they leave they find a pair of jeans that fits them all (weird, yes. Cheesy, I didn't think so) and with this they use them as their one connection to eachother to keep their friendship strong while apart.
I thought the actors were great in their roles, I especially liked America Ferrera and Alexis Bledel. Every single one of them were so different yet together they had great chemistry that totally sold to you that they were indeed best of friends. It really does make you feel jealous in a way at how good of friends they are (luckily I have one and thats plenty for me) but at the same time it allowed to you be a part of their friendship which definately makes it a feel good movie. I really did like the concept of seeing each of their sepearte summer experiences but yet together through the pants. Definately one of those films you could watch anytime and watch again when your feeling bored, down or just fancy watching an easy going movie.
Why did they write out the character of Effie!? This is still a good adaptation, though, and one of the best-cast movies I've ever seen (each of the girls very much matches her character's description in the books).
This movie was better than I thought. I'm so glad it was filmed in Vancouver. I could recognise the city in some scenes. I find the couples in this movie real cute. This movie's a bit of a tearjerker. I really like lBailey and the scenes showing how the 4 girls in the Sisterhood when they were little. =)
It would be cool if we all could have friends like these girls in the movie. I know I have one but they're very hard to find. The movie tells the story about four friends who all go their seperate ways for the Summer, They all discover who they really are and grow up. Beautiful film to watch with friends. Now I know why my best friend sent me a pair of jeans....only problem is, they don't fit me!
I must be honest that I enjoyed the film much more the second time I saw it, never realised that it was so funny, sad and gripping all at the same time. It was well acted and well thought, and I must say that I actually found this movie very entertaining...
I liked this movie because to me it was a story of four sisters who wherever they went needed eachother and were there for eachother no matter how far away they were. They could stay home, go away and still have eachother there daily... and the pants are the "Port Key" to eachother.
Now this movie couldn't have been any better. When u watched it, u felt like u were in the movie to. Another sister. Then what ever happened to them, like they cried, or laughed, u would do the same thing. When i watched this with my best friends, i got even closer to them. luved it xoxox
really good movie, each of the lead female charachter's have their own personal drama to go through and the pants help them find the courage to do so! gotta warn ye tho, it's a bit of a weepy one aswell, but its also really funny and as a bonus, kyle schmid is in it WITH BLONDE HAIR!!!!! if nothing else, you gotta check out his hair lol
Best chick flick in a long while (from when it came out). how the story can keep going from a pair of jeans. i mean Lena was so interesting to watch, and Bridget i had fun to watch. i must say her magical ending was amazing. the books are wonderful too. YES! finally the 4th has come out. and yes i read it. it was great!
