Not bad but not great either. Average is the word for everything except how good James Woods is at delivering a line no matter the quality of the rest of the film.

MCT:August 15, 2008Watched this today because there was nothing else on tele and it was an all right film. There was quite a lot of action, mostly involving explosions - lots of them.
Silverster Stallone plays the usual role of a tough and clever assassin. Sharon Stone did pretty well too, though I haven't seen many of her films so can't compare this role to her other ones. The acting by James Woods impressed me a lot actually.
Overall it's an OK film, that maybe you just watch 1-2 times because then this film doesn't provide anything special for the rewatching. -

MCT:April 27, 2008good action film, its ok for probobly friday night film if youre into this kind of action movie..this has a good cast of charcaters throughout the movie...i think that sylvester stallone played a good part in this movie,,,i have not seen this movie in ages but still think that the action scenes are really enjoyable james woods is a real good actor n i think he pulls it of really well in this movie because hes just a good actor...i think that this is a good thriller/action movie 2 watch

Only the action sequences and the larger-than-life supporting performance by James Woods save this action movie from being an utter disaster. Sylvester Stallone makes a great performance as the explosives specialist hired by a woman seeking revenge against the Cuban-American gangsters who killed her parents.

Typical early 90's cheesy action fare. Silly and over the top, but damn it's alot of fun. The acting is pretty standard except for James Woods, who is such a fun bad guy, and the pace is actually pretty restrained for a movie of it's type. Some silly dialogue can be forgiven for the well done action set pieces and some great tension building. Ignore the rather repulsive sex scene and just enjoy the explosions. Good brainless fun!

This is a surprisingly good movie. And this is not only for the famous sex scene between Stallone and Stone that caused her iminant divorce but it actually had good acting, good dialogue and a twisting plot. Very enjoyable.

The worst thing about this movie is actually the love scene between Sly and ermm... himself. There is plenty of Sly's icky shoulder veins, deformed muscles and ridiculous poses. Disturbing.

The "specialists", i.e. the critics, have really come down hard on this one. But in my opinion they've overreacted, and hunted it almost in mass-psychosis. It is no darn drama that deals with the questions about life or like that..it's drama in form of action, and if you want it (presumably why you chose it), you get it!

this movie was good because of the plot and the acting. sharon stone and james woods are exactly the same here as tehy were in casino! rod steiger was like the godfather. the movie doesnt have a lot of action though.

Laughable action thriller in which Sly and Stone completely fail to ignite any chemistry at all in amongst a load of pointless explosions and uninteresting plot "twists". James Woods looks like he's enjoying himself a lot more than the audience is.
