I will admit, I was nodding off by the end of it, but this is still a great movie. Yes, it's incredibly hammy, but that's sort of the point isn't it? The sets are opulent, the colours just pop off the screen, the score is enchanting and the acting... well, they tried hard... a si...( read more)

as in all things on planet earth practically everyone i know has seen this film at least once, cecil b. demille's typically twofaced denunciation of the sinful life while gloriously wallowing in it...but try to find anybody that actually knows the real ten commandments! good luck!

Heston got slammed for being a ham in this, but he pretty much has to in order to compete with Edward G. Robinson and Yul Brenner.

this one never loses it's relevance. Truly ahead of it's time, it is still worth watching all of these classic actors at their peak.
