Tim McCoy's western series for Puritan Pictures was heading into the home stretch when The Traitor was released in late 1936. McCoy stars as Tim Vallance, a state ranger in modern-day Texas. When Tim is stripped of his badge and drummed out of the rangers, he joins an outlaw gang, seemingly out of spite. Actually, Tim's court-martial was a sham, designed to throw the villains off the track.
