Immediately when I saw this it reminded me of the animation that the Professor Layton games are done in. It's a really weird, surreal animated French film but it doesn't matter as there's little to no speech in the entire film.

Visually original in just about every imaginable way, but it gets to a point where it is just being unique for the heck of it. Then it becomes not as engaging and just awkward as the story goes off the rails. Lots of subtle and not so subtle references in the movie keep it humoro...( read more)
