I had to watch this documentary for a sociology class. I was horrified by the brutal murder of this innocent kid. This was a true story, occuring 5 years before I was born.

Probably the most compelling and disturbing documentary I have ever seen! It truly opened my eyes as to racial injustices in the Southern states of the U.S. prior to the 1960s. Emmett Louis Till was a catalyst to the American Civil Rights Movement, and as such, I believe virtuall...( read more)y everyone should spare some time to see this.

Very sad but true account of the lynching of Emmet Till. How this poor young teen (only 14) was murdered is horrifying...and all because he whistled at a white women. So scary this did not happen all that long ago in history...there is much still that needs accounted for and ch...( read more)anged and this documentary is an important one for that reason. His mother who is still alive breaks my heart as she speaks but one cannot but admire her strength to carry on so that her child's death would never be in vain.

This movie was so good. I just couldn't stop crying. I can't believe someone could do this to a child.

It is a harrowing and necessary story, but very poorly done. It had a very stereotypical format and emotional target, ended very prematurely, and gave me little or no information that I had not already known. The only redeeming qualities were the mother's story and the showing of...( read more) the beaten face. A documentary should either shed new light or put a twist on known information that is unique and artful. This film did neither. It was people saying obvious things. I was thoroughly disappointed.

I pretty much tells the entire story through interviews. I've never found documentaries in this vain to be engaging. And while it is a historic subject and emotionally connected, it's just average in an overall sense.

    I hate racism and racists.

I loved the first hand accounts and actual historical footage. I always enjoy documentaries that talk about struggels and injustice. This was a sad case of torture and murder of a child. I have always known of the case but never in this much detail.
