    deniro is the best!!!
  • July 6, 2009
One of the best cast in movie history in a... well... more of a comedy than anything else. Laughed more than most comedies since a lot of scenes are so horrible.
Awful score by Morricone (great main theme which doesn't fit any scene at all though just like the rest of the score).

This does have a great script , acting , and direction.I'm sorry but Mr. Ebert was wrong on this one. This is probably the best mob movie since the godfather. It is filled with brilliant sequences of action that are just set-up pieces for the equally brilliant story. Not to mention ...( read more)that I think this film has the greatest musical score of all time. This movie also really captures perfectly the prohibition era Chicago where Al Cappone was making a fortune on selling illegal alcohol.Above all, he was operating through violence and that is what gives Elliot Ness the willpower to take him down.He gathers a team of "Untouchables" to try and stop Cappone only to realize that he may be in a game that is above his head.If you are looking for pure entertainment at its highest level than this is the flick for you.

A very good movie but the SCORE was soooo DISTRACTING! I felt like I was watching a bad NYPD Blue episode with the overtaking Saxophone,,,it was not right...

I loved Andy Garcia! he just has that Italian air about him, sigh, it makes his soo hot! love it!.
Billy Drago is the ...( read more)creapy-ist looking guy ever! ugg he's just wierd!

This movie starts off well, but ends in a freakin train wreck. It is long and drawn out, there are some scenes that are just PATHETIC attempts at being artistic. Costner, well to put it bluntly, blows in this movie. Bad.
Starts off well, but you find yourself wondering "when d...( read more)oes it end" with an hour left to go.

Visually memorable but not as substantial as a crime drama should be

Could have been a masterpiece if it hadnt been for Costner
  • May 22, 2009
Clássico. A cena da escadaria ninguém esquece.
  • May 18, 2009
Good, but somewhat cliched gangster film. The film score is sometimes beautiful but sometimes the 80sness of some sounds is too distracting.
  • May 13, 2009
Golden classic of the war between mobsters and police
  • May 11, 2009
gangster movie that comes with a charm....powerful music score...with a good actors line up...with de niro of course...cheers al capone...
  • May 9, 2009
Kevin Costner is one of those actors who makes hits or misses. A well diserved Hit. Look at the talent! De Niro portrayed Capone very well.
  • May 8, 2009
Now this is a different genre, but he always, always gets the bad guys.
  • May 6, 2009
overrated! but maybe its because it saw this one 20 times when it came out and am pretty sick of it. Maybe ill revisit it in five years or more.

The greatest gangster movie of all time and a Brian DePalma classic! Along with a oscar nominated score by Ennio Morricone and an oscar winning performance by screen legend, Sean Connery.
  • April 15, 2009
I saw them film this in Chicago.
  • April 15, 2009
Robert Deniro turned this joint out with the baseball bat scene!
    Go Nest!
  • April 6, 2009
A pretty good gangster film about the Prohibition Era. This film also has some pretty good acting talents in it such as Connery and De Niro. On the other you have the talentless hack of Kevin Costner. But even he couldnt drag this film down for me.
  • April 5, 2009
one of DePalma's best and has aged very well.
  • April 5, 2009
Highly stylized and eloquently written (thanks to Mamet) with a terrific cast. Connery won his long-overdue Oscar and De Niro is unforgettable as Capone. The film is not without its flaws and it definitely has its Hollywood gloss. Still, De Palma's operatic gangster film has its ...( read more)fun moments especially when you factor in Ennio Morricone's score.

EXCELENTE PELICULA Y CON GRANDES ACTORES.
  • March 21, 2009
    Fantastic masterpiece of suspense.
  • March 19, 2009
this film had all the makings of a good gangster flick, but it pales in comparison to the genuine greats. it lacked a certain element of intrigue and class, despite contributions from Connery and De Niro. Costner seems awkwardly out of place in this kind of film and was overall...( read more) pretty bland. individual character development was minimal, and the camaraderie among the four Untouchables was disappointing at best. good score and overall impressive direction, but it just doesn't live up to the competition.
  • March 15, 2009
a great gangster film, and thats it. judging it as "based upon" story, and as a gangster film such as Godfather or Goodfellas, it is a marvelous film. because this is not supposed to be one biographic view on the true events, like some people do think.
  • March 12, 2009
catchy theme tune, Bobby DeNiro as legendary baddie Al Capone, Sean Connery, Andy Garcia at his prime, blood and gore, and an opera scene. perfect. it's uplifting, too...
  • March 7, 2009
Solid fimmaking and pretty good acting all 'round, but it still has that veneer of slickness, where emotion can't ever get a grip on the action. DiNero was outstanding.
  • March 6, 2009
I guess this movie entertained me.... I couldn't remember it very well from my past so I had to rewatch it! I am starting to not enjoy watching Costner ver much. All in all it is a good movie, and i recommend it if you have time to spare!
