    Great scene with the baseball bat, nice suits, great score, the scene where sean connery's button is undone and then done up without him doing anything...

    One of the rare movies that Costner was really good in...I think he fits in well in this genre...those 50 and 60s type movies...Good story too with funny punchlines...

    They pull a knife, you pull a gun. He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue. That's the Chicago way. . . My mom's a Chicago native, south-side born and bred. She chuckles over this advice Connery gives to Costner about how to get Capone.

    ...( read more)ne. De Niro lives Capone and, maybe like no other actor--and I'm including Gary Cooper in The Pride of the Yankees here--, really makes a simple basball bat quite exciting to behold in action.

    Personally, my favorite line in the movie is Costner's "Did it sound anything like that?", followed closely by his comment that Frank Nitti is "in the car." If none of these lines ring any bells for you, it probably just means you haven't subjected yourself to as many viewings as I have. Lucky you? Costner is often quite the wooden man on screen, and that means he is really perfect in this part as the emotionally constricted Eliot Ness.

    Kind of an unabashed hollywoodization of historical events. AWESOME climax though. Terriffic cast, and one of the best 80s films.
