  • December 31, 2009
This movie is weird, but its still watchable
  • December 29, 2009
Love it! I had warning that it was not what the trailer leads you to believe. So, I was able to watch it without any preconceived notions of what I thaught should happen!
  • December 29, 2009
A plot to easy to figure...
  • December 27, 2009
i thought it was getting really good, until the ending happened. left me feeling very dissatisfied... felt like a waste of time after watching it.
  • December 26, 2009
The ending was a real disappointment.
  • December 25, 2009
A very boring movie in my opinion. Yeah the twist at the end was really trippy but all in all thats the only thing that really happens in this flick.
  • December 20, 2009
Started out quite well but the twist at the end was poor. Shyamalan has made better movies than this.
  • December 9, 2009
    una pelicula muy interesante
  • December 6, 2009
the story it's good, but the movie is just idk kinna boring i guess
  • December 6, 2009
Cool but Predictable... but just because I'm so smart.

Highly underrated and misunderstood. This is not a horror film as the marketing led you to believe, this is a drama about how far people will go for love, and the ones they love. In this regard, it's stunning and brilliant. The cast is beyond capable and the score is amazing.
  • November 19, 2009
Not as good as some of the other movies he's done but it was creepy. The twist ending wasn't creepy but it was unexpected.
  • November 18, 2009
Don't expect anything going in and you will love it, I think the hype really killed this films reputation. I found this to be one of my favorite horrors of the past decade, due to the amount of suspense. It's got a great cast and performances, as well as a moving story. I really ...( read more)feel that M. Night Shamalan peaked here, because I just don't think he can get that shock value in anymore. Well worth it though. If you're gonna go out, might as well do it with a movie like this.

    ok could have been better

You have to know it is a M. Night Shyamalan movie before you see it. If you go in thinking its gong to be scray you will be disappointed. But If you know M. Night Shyamalan and still wanna see it you gonna like it.
  • October 25, 2009
    Completely pointless
  • October 22, 2009
I was quite surprised that I liked this one
  • October 22, 2009
Although the concept of this movie should of been entertaining, it wasn't. It was poorly executed, leaving the film in tatters. I had also high hopes for this movie because of the cast. Admittingly, the cast did pull of brilliant performances but it doesn't disguise the annoyance...( read more) of this movie and the cheap horror parts to scare you.

A great fictional example of using fear to control the population. M Night is an amazing storyteller, and this is a nicely drawn story that closely mirrors our 'political powers-that-be' and their use of fear to attempt to control our way of life.

Everyone gives this movie such a hard time, I think because they were expecting it to be like sixth sense. It is not a true horror tale, but more like a philosophy/psych class theory- what extreme would people go to for a utopia like existence and what prices would have to be pa...( read more)id on that path?

By now, everyone has heard there is some kind of "twist!" in this. I say it's not so much as a twist as a surprise. Yes, it changes your view of what is going on, but no where even close to 6th Sense- that was a twist. This is more of a gear shift.

Bryce Dallas Howard as Ivy exudes a true innocence- she is a tomboy that speaks her mind (a fair match for Phoenix's Lucius) which is a nice take on a heroine. She is not a super-woman by any means but can stand on her own two feet and has a beautiful singing voice as well (if that really is her voice).

The nighttime porch scene between Ivy and Lucius is a true testament to not only the actors, but the power of the words in the script- it was my favorite scene in the film.
Adrien Brody's "Noah" character for me was a little too much. Not to his fault, but in that I wanted to smack him senseless despite his mental handicap. There are some things you just don't do and he did a lot of them.

This movie has been mistaken as a horror film when in reality it is a heartbreaking story- a story of loss, love, and hope. I would best describe it as a love story to watch around Halloween- so that it fits the mood.

"I: Let the bad color not be seen. It attracts them. II: Never enter the woods. That is where they wait. III: Heed the warning bell, for they are coming."
One of my fav and Shyamalan greatest movie ever.
This is what i call a SCARY moive.

A controversial movie, I don't know if i'd have the right to call it cult, but it won't definitely be enjoyed by a vast number of persons. Everyone was expecting a twist just because it's Shyamalan and were decieved that the twist was obvious, but for me I don't think there was a...( read more) twist at all, just a continuity of the story, which was utterly genuine and original. Well there are some unbelievable facts like that blind girl walkin alone in the woods for example, but just remember it's a movie and it wants to prove a point in those acts. The atmosphere in every single scene is breathtaking, helped by the sensational score that makes its impact from the very first minute.
It appears all Shyamalan movies will split audiences in half. This one certainly won me over.

quite a time after watching Signs (which is now my most hated film) i decided to give one more chance to M. Night Shyamalan
well yeah, that and my girl keept telling me how good this one is

guess what - it is not

just minutes into the film i wished someone would throw a lot of...( read more) napalm over that village and stop their suffering
and it is not getting better
we are confronted with a stupid idea each five mins or so and my absolute favorite here is the idea to send a blind girl on a several days trip into the wood to go get help
but the big story around the village is also remarkably stupid

it seems to be a speciality of Shyamalan to try to build up suspense and deliver nothing than

but you can learn one thing from that film - that M. Night Shyamalan sucks in logics
    and maybe ethics too

if you swallowed signs you will swallow this one too i guess
if not - do not try
  • October 5, 2009
    Totally disappointing.
  • October 4, 2009
Ok M. You're running out of twists now.
  • October 1, 2009
Not really a romance in the true sense of the word, but this thriller was very romantic!
  • September 30, 2009
Ten minutes in i got the twist... it's not a bad film... but once you know what happens and that's the major basis of the movie it leaves little rewatch value.
  • September 27, 2009
Every time I see this movie I like it more and more.
  • September 23, 2009
I liked this better than I thought I would based on the reviews. Still not as good as the other Shyamalan films.
  • September 22, 2009
This movie would've been lost without Bryce Dallas Howard's acting. She was absolutely phenomenal, even eclipsing Joaquin Phoenix AND Adrien Brody, two of Hollywood's elite actors. No small feat. Shyamalan's third-best effort behind 6th Sense and Signs, though sadly he seems to b...( read more)e getting progressively worse with each outing. Decent suspense and you really don't see the climax coming (no pun intended!!!!). You may not feel it pays off quite like you'd hope, however, but still entertaining.
  • September 22, 2009
Shyamalan needs to pull out a few new tricks from up his sleeve, that said though, I found this to be quite entertaining!
  • September 20, 2009

why is it seems that everybody hate the twist??i liked it..
  • September 17, 2009
disappointing twist for a beautiful movie, too bad..
  • September 17, 2009
Lame, preposterous drama. For a cast with so many talented actors there are several terrible performances Hurt and Brody are the worst offenders but several others are at best lackluster.
  • September 17, 2009
Undervalued Shyamalan thrilling simple fantasy story.

    54/100
  • September 12, 2009
At times quite good...other times...bland...so an uneven film. The death knell of a film.
  • September 11, 2009
haha the twist...wtf.... thought it was clever though
  • September 11, 2009
it didn't make sense but it did have it own scary part
  • August 31, 2009
    What a surprise ending
  • August 24, 2009
    The creepier the better...
  • August 22, 2009
Great cinematography and some scenes have stuck with me for awhile but overall...I don't know how I feel about the ending.
