This movie was a masterpiece,in the telling of two tales with some not so obvious similarities in theme.Life can be tedius and boring, and relationships can be painfully numb and inconsequential.Living without passion,or repressing passion can result in stupifying impulses and tragedy, betrayal.

Sarah Polly was excellent - such a shame that the movie failed to hook the "herd" as this role could have catapulted her career. She is an artist, like Penn and her portrayal of her own alienation and repression was stellar.

Sean Penn, was perfectly cast and played the role superbly with his heavy, silent intrspection, and brooding.
