    Fantastic recreation of a 70's B-movie. Magnificently detailed and extremely well done considering its shoestring budget. Highly recommended for horror genre fans or fans of obscure indy cinema.

    Not horrible but the acting was very obviously B rated and I couldn't finish it.

    Based on a true story from 30 years ago and screen-play lifted from the journal of the lead character. This particular story took place in a small Texas moonshine loving town along the Navidad river in the 1970s. This is low-low budget - a might cheesy, yet a might interesting ...( read more)as well; in particular because many of the actual town folks that were there back then and were part of this story play themselves or they play extras. Something rings true because of that and keeps it interesting. A wild man (half animal half man?) goes upmuck and terrorizes the town until the men of this town grab their hunting rifles and coon dogs and head to the river. How much of this can actually be true and how much of this is this town's own folklore or residule from all the moonshine is left up to the viewer. Do not expect slick special effects - expect the worse you can remember from 70s films - DO however expect a good story and very interesting townfolk. I actually enjoyed this even though it made me laugh more than anything. I like these kind of films though...and this is the best of that genre I've seen in awhile.
