A blonde. a redhead and a brunette make up the witches of Eastwick. Jack Nicholson was good in the role of the devil but i'll remember it for the scene of cherries being vomited in the church. Liked the ending too with all the babies looking at their daddy.
Beware of what you wish for! I re-watched it last night and I fell in love with it once more.I guess it's because of the chemistry between the actors, the stylish photography, John Williams' score, the humour, the special effects..I watched with my two best friends while eating cherries(if you saw the movie, you know what I mean)...Devilish Jack Nicholson, flamboyant as the 'horny little devil',in one of his best roles, brilliant performances by Cher,Michelle Pfeiffer, Susan Sarandon and Veronica Cartwright. This was one of the rare cases where I enjoyed the movie more than the book.
This movie is not good, but it gets scored even lower for the promise it carried... and squandered. I mean, it had Sarandon, Pfeiffer and Nicholson as the devil. No one could screw this up without some sort of deliberate attempt to do so. It's hard to pinpoint what it was that I didn't like about this, but the effects seemed cheesy, the acting slightly spastic and most scenes seemed powered by bad ideas. This was just so disappointing.
Great movie. The all star cast was awesome. Jack Nicholson will forever be one my most favorite Satans. On a personal note, the musical score of this film played very well with the whole "feel" of this movie.
This movie scared me...I love cherries but after this film the "left a bad taste in my mouth" if you get my drift, my mother swears I look like Sarandon (I don't see it), but I adore all the performances..
Good movie funny and serious everyone in this is a good actor and Jack is Jack it's about 3 withches who meet Jack and the effect he has on them and vice versa.
Can't really grasp why it's so popular. The cast is good, especially Pfeiffer, but the plot is so weak and hollow- it's hard to guess at what audience they had aimed it. There are some funny moments, but a film cannot survive on a couple of laughs. All in all, a poor and substanceless attempt at a fantasy drama...
Ugh, I couldn't stand this movie. It's not that the acting was terrible- usually i like each of these actors performances it's that the plot was sped up and nonsensical. I'm sure there is some hidden meaning within this thing but I just can't see it. Despite having it's funny moments (very few and far between) it was boring at points and seemed to drag on. I personally do not understand why it is considered a classic.
Silly but fun. A film about how the devil interacts with people, but if he were really a person. Not to mention if he were a person you were dating. The film is a bit boring until the crazy lady starts to vomit cherry seeds all over, and then when Jack's three women and he have their scary breakup fight. It gets a bit over the top (like when jack turns into a claymation giant), and the 'men are pigs, women are god's mistake' theme is a bit annoying, but still worth watching for Jack.
Seeing this movie I want to read the book because I really liked this. Having Jack Nicholson, Cher, Susan Sarandon, and Michele Pieffer was an ingenious cast for this film. Everyone should see this movie!!!!
Unapologetically camp, however that doesn't save the day. Jack Nicholson as the depraved devil works - unsurprisingly - and even the womens performances in the film, while aren't academy winning, aren't memorably tragic... the film is just disconcertingly awful because it tries to hard to fit its genre with a series of ridiculous slapstick sequence of events. Run, and run fast.
Good but quite strange. Jack Nicholson is pretty tromatising as the devil in this movie. First movie I've seen with Cher as an actor, surprisingly good!
Me and my mom used to watch this movie all the time, and we still do watch it. Who knew that Jak Nicholson was a bad guy?? Hmmm.. No but Cher, Susan and michelle we awesome in this movie 2. I think my favorite part was the end.
