Amazing sequel to the first! It follows up with Nathan and Lydia moving Kirtland with the other members of the chruch and start work on building the temple. Joseph and his wife Emma over comes ALOT of difficult trials such as the loss of a baby and Jospehbeing tarred and feathered. This show is so amazing and well made!Even if you aren't a Mormon,I am sure you will like this movie! The acting and story are just so beautiful its hard not to! I suggest watching them in order cause if not you really wont get what is going on,especially if your not familliar with the books or lds/mormon history.
I don't think number two is as good as number one, but it's still entertaining. We get to go deeper into the Steed family's lives. We've moved on from Nathan and Lydia and into more aspects of the early Church history. Not to say that I don't like the love story between Nathan and Lydia, but since the producers for some reason chose another actress to play Lydia, her character has kind of gone downhill a little. Aside from that, we get a powerful performance from the actor who plays Joseph Smith and also from the actor who plays Joshua.
This film seemed way to rushed. Just as you began to understand what happened to the Steed family by the very last dissappointed ending, the movie was over. This film most definitly had serious potential to be an amazing western series, based on basis of the mormon faith. Very disappointed with this fictional western film.
A strong companion piece to the first. Filled with emotion, passion and heart. A wonderful period piece about the struggles of the LDS church in its earliest days.
