Interesting movie. I didn't know if I was liking it much until I got towards the end. The film grows slowly on you. By the end credits I was totally digging the film and was elated with the ending...

As Hunt's directorial debut, I was completely underwhelmed. Her character was entirely miserable for the duration of the film and even when she was happy she was still whiny. I could not fathom what Colin Firth's character saw in her, or what her character saw in Matthew Broderic...( read more)k. The only unpainful moments were when Bette Midler was onscreen.

Hm, I am a huge Bette Midler fan and she didn't dissapoint at all. Helen Hunt did good, acting and directing. I wonder though if her talent got a little lost in this project. Overall the story was something I seen some friends go through...so that was really strange. Good thing b...( read more)oth stories had a happy ending. This was good, nothing to great, but good. A good movie. Helen Hunt is not really extraordinary as a director, but she did a fine enough job. Bette Midler was terrific. It was fun to see Helen and Matthew together again after Project X. However Project X was a much better movie too. :) The story of this one is about...( read more) a woman who is adopted, loses her adoptive mother (to death) and her husband (to divorce) at the same time. She desperately wants a child of her own but things do not seem to work out for her. Midler plays her biological mother who seeks her out to try and have a relationship with her now that both her adoptive parents have passed on. It had a few funny moments and a few heartwrenching ones. Worth a viewing.

Well Colin Firth looked gorgeous in this and it was occassionally funny! However, thats the only thing i can say thats possitive about this film! Its was boring, slow and although Helen Hunt tried and produced not a bad piece of work, its nothing extraordinary and rather forgetta...( read more)ble.

El debut como directora de Helen Hunt nos regala una pelicula muy humana donde las actuaciones logran transportarnos hasta los mismos zapatos de los personajes, haciendo de esta pelicula una buena inversion de tiempo.
