I don''t know what people find in this movie and the song "When you want something you don't want it" or i don't know what it is is really horrbile

enjoyable when it comes to Monroe, but tiring with the repeat of the vaudevillian Donohues... nice but not enough.

I give this movie 3 stars only because of Marilyn Monroe. She really doesn't belong in this movie. She seems so much more modern than the rest of the cast that it seems she must of come out of some kind of time warp, but as usual, once she's grabbed the camera, she doesn't let go...( read more). Her musical numbers are fabulous. Ethel Merman is always fun, but I have always thought she and Dan Dailey make an odd couple. I also could never understand what Marilyn would see in Donald O'Connor. Johnnie Ray's presence adds nothing to the movie. Enough already with Alexander's Ragtime Band.

this is one fantastic movie!!! Merman's great! there's no unique voice like ethel merman. marilyn's lovely as usual (she's so aware about how people think of her, and she made use of this knowledge to her advantage....she, being no plain dumb blonde), and has such fine timing a...( read more)s a comedian (too bad, she died early).

A wonderful old film for a rainy bank holiday weekend - if you like musicals that is!

Great cast and a wonderful collection of Irving Berlin classics.

Marilyn Monroe is exactly everything that I despise in celebrities and the opposite sex. Her life was always about being noticed for her body, and she would do anything to be noticed and to be rich. She is most famous for having an affair with who I deem to be the worst presid...( read more)ent ever, JFK. She also has an annoying voice and could not act for crap. As far as her movies go, you can count me out, for I would rather spend a day listening to Whoopi attempt to sound intelligent.
