Critic Reviews

  • Mike Clark, USA Today

An Aladdin rip-off burdened by songs so dreadful that even Academy voters will refuse to nominate them.

  • Andrew Osmond, SFX Magazine

A cartoon legend, a massively ambitious film decades in the making. Even in this butchered, cretinously dumbed-down version, its incredible hubris shines through.

  • Nell Minow, Common Sense Media

    A must for family viewing.

I really liked this movie, and I highly recommend it. It may seem at first that they were just trying to be like Aladdin, but this movie is completely different. It has a fantastic art style that just amazes the audience. Plus, the story is a classic tale.

I found the animation a bit too stylistic to really appreciate the beauty. The story was a bit oddball too.
