This 1952 documentary was created in order to showcase a new filming and exhibition style known as Cinerama. The technique created an image nearly three times as large as traditional movie screens, and was launched right at the beginning of the boom in the sales of televisions in order to help the movie business differentiate itself from this new form of media.
