It's easy to indulge yourself when a film get's this good. Irène Jacob is a wonderfully talented actress and I love the overall feel of the film but the ending felt way too forced for my liking.

Blue was perfection while Red and White are both are excellent films.

The third of this marvelous trilogy and the second better in my opinion. The story is great, the photography amazing, Irène Jacob

is so good as she was in "La Double vie de Véronique" and the end scene is a surprised... but only for who watched Bleu and Blanc before.

For me, it's the best one of the 3 colors trilogy by Kieslowski. Beatiful, clever and intelligent plot.

It's been awhile since I've seen this. I liked it, but I think this is one of those movies that has that "Hindsight of Death Profundity" stamp on it, because of Kieslowski's unfortunate death the following year. Films like this, (the final film of the director, or star), tend to be regarded far higher than they might have been, had the death not occurred.

a great finale to the Three Colors trilogy. all the subtle things Kieslowski brings together in these films is truly masterful. the most 'hopeful' of the 3 films.

For the record Red is the best of director Krzysztof Kieslowski's color trilogy. This is a stunning piece of work in every way possible including a wonderful performance by Irene Jacob. Not a movie for everyone (a.k.a idiots will hate this movie and want to watch Transformers instead.) but for anyone willing to give the little foreign film a chance this is a must see.

To sum up the briiliance of Kieslowski's career, one needs only to watch this film. Kieslowski is a filmmaker of compassion and meditation. Not for anyone who doesn't go to the cinema to think.

I love how the story revealed itself like curling-back layers of filoux pastry and how the 7 people from all three episodes came together in the climactic denouement - very clever, proper film-making.

And speaking of fantasy, Red borders on the fantastic, this third installment of Krzysztof Kieslowski's color trilogy. I have a strong desire to see something of a time travel element in this film, but it is more that there is a parallel between the old and young judge which turns on the success or failure of Irène Jacob's being there to "save" the younger judge from suffering the fate of the older one.

This is a beautiful story about the much vaunted redemptive power of love and, employing a benevolent sense of humor in his examination of the human comedy, Kieslowski actually effects redemption for all the principal characters of his trilogy when they are plucked from death at sea, saved absolutely by their creator, regardless of whether we think them worthy of being saved or not. Yes, regardless of what we may think, Kieslowski does believe them worthy, just as the old woman is worthy of being helped by Jacob to recycle her bottle. Perhaps the next best amusing detail is that the cheating woman and her lover are lost in the Channel on their yacht, she of the rather unreliable weather prediction service. Sadly, however, Trintignant's dog is also lost.

A very strong, powerful from Irene Jacob in the what is arguably the weakest part of Kieslowski's trilogy. Still very well done, though.

Red Is Better Than White But Not As Good As Blue
The Story IS Cool And Jacob Is Ok
There's Nothing A Lot To Say About It
    More TO Watch
But It's Another Good Part In The Trilogy

Red is, as I thought it would be, by far the strongest of the Trois Couleurs trilogy. A compelling masterpiece of writing, characterization, message, cinematography, everything imaginable.

It's hard to say much about the trilogy as a whole that hasn't already been addressed. After watching Red, my appreciation for it has been bolstered significantly. These are undeniably important, powerful films - ones worth seeing for anyone who's remotely serious about movies.

Roger Ebert's essay about the trilogy, which you can find on his website, is a really great read for better understanding. It says a lot about the sway these films hold that I want to read and learn more about them, and about Krzysztof Kieslowski and about his works. They may not be entertaining, but they are inexorably unique.

Moral of this story: If you ditch your shitty boyfriend and then go on a boat trip that ends up in a storm, you might get to meet some interesting characters from other movies.

Fascinated by its heat. How KIESLOWSKI symbolized his work by couleurs is genial. Rouge is my Favorites among trois couleurs

"Deciding what is true and what isn't now seems to me...a lack of modesty."

O meu filme preferido do Kieslowski, a real masterpiece!

I loved this movie. The story's inter-twining relationship was very interesting. The colour-relationship and the action, with each usage of cinematography and every word and line perfect in a way that only Kieslowski could've done. It was a remarkable feat, one is the life of one from the past coming to the present and the other is one of the present going into the future. Every shot was done in a way that shows not just camera complexity, but pure beuty, to use glare, bulbs in a way so beautiful, I can't imagine knowing beauty any other way. The cinematoography here can really match "The Art Of Killing".

Is life destiny or mere coincidence? Kieslowski explores how our actions, and inactions, affect those around us. This final part to the "Three Colours" trilogy is a cinematic work of art with a darkly uplifting final message: tragedy paves the way for hope and new beginnings; and in life, who's to say what's good or what's bad?
