As a small child, Jeanne Brodamere (Mary Pickford) is abducted from her American parents by a Belgian peasant. When World War I breaks out, she is sent to the United States to be reunited with her birth parents. Jeanne is accompanied by two orphans and is forced to work as a maid when the socially elite block the identity of her parents to her. She saves her employer from a blackmail scheme and falls in love with Billy (John Harron), the boy next door. Billy rescues her from the blackmailers and helps her find her parents in this routine drama.
