Plot: An 11-year-old boy's amazing ability to break wind leads him first to fame and then to death row, before it helps him to fulfill his ambition of becoming an astronaut.
I wish there were some way to stick the line, "ThUNDERpantsss!" into the Harry Potter movies because Rupert Grint would bring down the house. Obviously recognizing the genius of that moment, the person who put together the DVD chapters put a chapter stop *just* before that point. I watched it a good five times in a row and was laughing so hard I was crying. I have the sense of humor of an eight-year-old boy, so the idea of a movie about a kid who farts drew me in, but I stayed for the film's humanity, great one-liners, and sweet message.
I rented this because it looked unspeakably horrid and by some odd chance it was far from being as unwatchable as I expected it to be. The film tries really hard to be more than just an 87 minute fart joke but it just seems way too mean spirited at times to to take seriously.
I find it very hard to understand why this film is #89 on th IMDb bottom 100 movies. Although the initial premise of a boy with huge gas problems may not sound appealing, it's actually a good film. Quality acting from all involved (including Rupert Grint, and a tiny teensy role for Keira Knightley), and a sweet central storyline of the two boys friendship. It's obviously not taking itself too seriously, and the only reason I can think that people wouldn't like it is because they expect too much of it. Kids will love it. Adults will find it amusing. And I adored the colour scheme! The continued green theme gave the film an original edge that sets it apart from typical 'kid' films. A good one to watch on a rainy afternoon.
very stupid..
but naive..and kiddy like i just saw it...to see rupert's performance...he's so cute..and great actor in such an early age
I found this movie ok but it is also annoying the boy who farts all the time what he says all the time is That was the best day of my life........ ever or That was the worst day of my life......... ever. It gets annoying hearing the same line over and over but it's an OK movie.

It was Keira Knightley as an extra. Has the actress playing the boys sister acted in any other film or tv programme because i really recognise her. Or is it just me?
i love this movie coz its really cool, but did anyone spot keira knightley as an extra coz i swear she was in the scene where the farting boy ran away from the opera guy, and she said, "that was brilliant" coz she thought the opera guy had sung that note. i think im imagining things i dunno...
