Enjoyed it so much more than Nightmare. So much more in depth and creative, not to mention, romantic... : )

A short and sweet animation. Not Danny Elfman's best work though I have to say.

On looks this is amazing, just like 'Nightmare' plus of course its Burton's work which is a winner for me. But this just doesn't hit the mark, the songs aren't catchy and the characters don't have the same appeal, didn't like all the skeletons, they arent characters, just skeleto...( read more)ns, nothing much appealing about them. The human characters were much better than the dead ones, the old Victorian style of costume used really looked good and added that gothic feel. The voice work was great, again using a perfect of cast of kooky character actors/actresses to make the magic.
Its visually where the film is best of course, the colours used are all faded and almost black and white, this always looks good, but its missing the magic and indepth imagination of 'Nightmare'.

It just barely works, and it doesn't hold a candlelight in comparison with The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Yeah, I finally saw this movie. I thought it was ok, it wasn't a great Tim Burton film, but it sure wasn't bad. I think I enjoyed it, I was a little disappointed when the disc skipped at a very significant part. The disc skipped right when the corpse bride was coming out of the g...( read more)round and said a few things to Victor. Unfortunately I was unable to watch some of that part. I thought this movie was cute though, definately interesting. I really like the dog, even though it doesn't really have a part like zero did in the Nightmare, but it was still pretty cute and that line, "play dead." lol, that was cute, and the dog just gave him that cock-eyed look. I liked the old grampa skeleton too, he was cute in a funny way. I really liked Emily, she was very beautiful even though she was dead, she was beautiful compared to Victoria who seemed fairly plain. I really liked the piano scene. However, the ending of this movie was actually a little depressing while being a relief. Emily's spirit could finally rest (the butterflies was a rather nice touch), but I was sad that she couldn't stay with Victor or be with anyone else. But that's how it should have been I suppose, victoria and victor were meant to be. They were very cute together. Good movie, recommend, but don't hope for it to be another Nightmare. (lol, that sounds funny)

    By far Burton's worst movie.

When I saw this for the first time it was at the cinema, I had no expectation to this movie but it was brilliant. Tim Burton and Johnny Deep is a good combination.

the animations are cool, but there's some real flaws in the storyline. at times it's funny but mostly you just sit and look at the pretty pictures.
