This is one of my other favorite kind of movie that has to do with time travel. They go back to the 14 century to rescue a professor. One falls in love with a lady that goes down in history. He falls head over heels and does his best to protect her. Some of the group does make it back home. They also go to the site where they had been doing an archaelogical dig and learn more about the friend that stayed behind. Check it out.

As an adventure film, it's so-so. As an adaptation of a very interesting Michael Crichton book, it's pretty wretched. The concepts in Crichton's book made time travel seem very plausible, and the initial set-up as the archaeology team slowly discover exactly what happened to the professor gave me some "that is so cool!"-style goosebumps. But the filmmakers scrap all of that intrigue and dumb down both the concept, the characterization, and the dialogue to the point that I'm amazed Crichton signed off on this. It's not like the guy's hurtin' for money. In the right hands, while this might not have been the next "Jurassic Park", it at least wouldn't have been the next "Congo" (another decent Crichton story that didn't survive the trip from page to screen). There was too much going on in the novel to cram this into a two-hour movie. Crichton would have been better off talking HBO, Showtime, hell, even the Sci-Fi channel to make this into a miniseries so that the coolest concepts, like the idea of alternate dimensions and the fact that the difference in English now and in the 1300's would have made conversation nearly impossible between two "English speakers" or that a company would use time travel as a new way to define hostile takeovers, wouldn't have been sacrificed to make a ho-hum actioner. Here's hoping "The Time Traveler's Wife" will fare better in the time-travel genre. . .

Love it, its so uniquic. I forgot I had seen it before, but now I know who Gerhard Butler is and he's lush. The medival period is done so well, so dark. The costumes and settings are just amazing. It is so intense watching it and very gripping. They go out from a time in a Amercia (their present, not sure on the year) and go into the past. Dark, but very gripping. I recommend to all drama fanatic's, and even romantic goers. As its more action, war and danger, but there's an element of love in it.

The story was cute and I think the best part of this movie was the Manek & Lady Claire storyline (which could have been it's own movie). Probably could have made a good movie with more of them (or just them). At times I didn't know what was worse the dialogue or the way some of the actors delivered the lines. I also felt like some of the questions weren't answered. IDK, maybe i was too bored to pay attention.

I loved this movie for the effects and the actors, primarily Gerry Butler. I love the way he makes the realization the he is the one on the tomb stone with the Queen! His joy felt so real.

Haha, I remember me and a circle of friends were psyched for this film just because we all loved the Crichton book. I guess I can appreciate it for the cheese-factor it brought.

Read the book and I was super excited to see this flick. What a major let down. How does Paul Waker keep getting work-yikes

So-so adaptation of the novel by Michael Crichton and an o.k. film as long as you don't think about it too much.

It's a bit closer to historical accuracy than a lot of movies (in terms of how people actually lived), but that's the only thing going for it for me.

The story's great, but I didn't enjoy it as I thought I would be. It could've been much better than that. Some things were missing in this movie, maybe some upgrades.

Saw this movie when it came out in theathers, and then saw it again today. It was far better today, maybe it was the company (ex-wife). Anyway Costumes were great and kept you on the edge of your seat, ashame this type travel isn't possible, I am ready to go.

I've read Michael Crichton's book and liked it, so I definitely want to see the movie. I'm sure it'll be pretty different, but hopefully still good.

The film is lazily created and assembled like a made-for-tv movie, true to the mould of a SciFi original. It is poorly shot and the acting is unconvincing to say the least. The whole mess is a terribly disappointing waste of opportunity.

Great action movie...good acting...enjoyable and riveting story...inspiring soundtrack...watch out for a few scattered cusswords and a few surprising acts of violence, but its mostly on a PG-13 level.

I love this movie, and how they show you the differences from our time to 1357. I like action and medieval movies so it was perfect for me.
