June 5, 2008One of the most overated movies, if not the single most overated movie, of all time? I saw it, to long, it sucked for that reason alone.... I'm just glad that I didn't see it in the theater!
Why was it overated you may ask. Well, 90 mins or 240 mins, regardless of it's length any movie that doesn't have enough of what it takes to be a good movie, or a movie that is at least worth seeing even if it isn't that good, in terms of the acting, directing, the screenplay, cgi, etc., even if it is still decent, the movie will not be worth it.
Longer movies like The Green Mile, King Kong, and yes, Titanic, have a harder time of being movies that are truly good, or excellent, or at the very least worth seeing! This movie was like 4 hours long! And the acting was subpar! Kathy Bates was really the only one who was good in it. And she is the reason that I didn't give it a half a star or worse, that I didn't specifically say in my comments here that "I would have given it "0" stars if I could have!" The directing was only ok and the screenplay was pretty crappy in a lot of parts throughout the film, not so bad in others.
Titanic doesn't suck, but the movie is just not good enough to justify the sheer length of the film. Therefore it does kinda suck at the very least for being far to long & not very good. It is overated!!! -

May 22, 2008just seen a programme on tv which says that in Fact the Titannic did not rise up in the air (90 degrees) and then break...but lifted slightly and broke in two a lot earlier. Suggesting that there was in fact a fault in the design (by Harland and Wolfe). Shame really cos this would muck up the end of the film. !!!

If not for the theme song the movie would not have won the hearts of many.The story line was just passable and does not reflect the tittle of the Movie.
