Critic Reviews

  • Chuck Rudolph, Matinee Magazine

Less a crime flick than another disjointed thesis on unsettled, alienated youth.

  • Daniel Eagan, Film Journal International

The film's calm, quiet tone and outsider's point of view give unexpected depth to what ends up a slender but enjoyable story.

Interesting premise, but the film never delivers any of the social commentary it tries to inject. Not a bad effort, but hardly memorable. The stars are mostly for Kitano's cameo as, you guess it, a low-rank yakuza.
