wow o wow!!
i loved this movie, and the cheap aspect of it made it even better.
pete may not be my favorite member of the who, but he sure knows how to make a movie from an album.
That shit is just MESSED UP, yet entertaining in an unusual sort of way. I was a little weirded out when Ann-Margaret was rolling around in various goo that came spewing from her TV.
wow i have just seen this movie 4 the 1st time n think that this is a good movie 2 watch...this has got a good cast of actors/actressess throughout this movie...i think that the director of this Drama, Musical & Performing Arts movie had done a really good job of directing this movie because you never know what 2 expect throughout this movie because the director keeps you on the edge's of your seats thorughout this movie n u never know what 2 expect thorughout this movie...the soundtrack throughout this movie is pretty kewl as well..this has got a good story throughout n its really entertianing 2 watch as well n its enjoyable
I felt like I shouldnt like it. But the stylistic approah of Ken Russell makes it irrisistable - and with some great rock cameos and Roger Daltry being clueless for most of the film - its great if you just want a film to absorb your sense of being and let the abstract concepts and the crazed music scenes completely obliterate you.
Stritly for the open-minded. Or a Who fan.
this is the best rock opra ever! AND it's got Roger Daltrey, in his days of goregous hair. Seriously. I mean, his hair is, like, unspeakably amazing. And he's ROGER DALTREY, isn't that reason enough to see this???
I don't think I've ever hated a movie more than this one. Seriously, ugh, probably my least favourite film ever. I can't believe Ken Russell directed this crap!
I'm kind of torn on this one. The story was interesting, though exaggerated, and the music is very good. Some scenes go on for too long and the story gets really weird sometimes.
Ok people in the know tell me that Pink Floyd's the wall is the movie that'll just freak you out if you watch it on acid. This movie kind of freaks me out and I've never done acid in my life. Really cosmically trippy and so hard to watch and not smirk. Still, great music and Ann-Margaret swimming in alphagetti or something. Brilliant!
Saw it own it husband likes it I find that the only good thing to come out of this movie is the music. It might be considered a cult movie I consider it a lemon.
wild rock opera and possibly the greatest of them all - some great performances - Elton john and tina turner (as the acid queen) particularly memorable but the music transcended the film, amazing
A very odd story and musical, that made me laugh all the way, not because it was a comedy, but it was pretty amateur stuff and seeing Ollie Reed singing like that really couldn?t have done his hard image any good.
So disappointing compared to Quadrophenia, the plot line is so awful, it's almost funny. Tina Turner as the Acid Queen was seriously good though- her face spasms were ridiculous.
rock star films are not known for their cinematic brilliance and this is no exception. very funky, very weird, and certainly not up to the same musical standards as the original album. still, a very entertaining film that's a must-see for any who fan.
This was an interesting movie to watch, but you really wonder sometimes what the connection is between the things going on in the movie. You have to really think about what is going on, and try to make sense of it. The end works, but doesn't take us anywhere, it just ends sort of where it began, and we're not sure where Tommy's life is going to go from there. It's interesting to watch.
Hehehehehehehehhehehehhee.
Awesome music, crazy storyline. I think Townshend's idea was a good one, but it didn't translate well into film. His ultimate deeper meanings and messages are still there, you just have to dig for them and it's difficult to take them seriously when there's a scene where Ann-Margaret is rolling around in baked beans and washing detergent that spurted from the TV.
(And I *hope* Roger Daltrey found it creepy that John Entwistle WANTED to play the character of his gay sadistic uncle who rapes and molests him when he's supposed to be babysitting. I *HOPE*. lol...I wonder what he would say if someone asked him about it now. "Well, what can I say? He plays bass.")
Oh yeah, this film is bursting with random crazy famous people! Besides The Who, there's Tina Turner, Eric Clapton, Jack Nicholson, and Elton John was there. being gay.
Two questions: what was that church in the beginning, and WHERE CAN I SIGN UP?!
I always love it when Pete and Keith start smashing things.
