Greg Jerdan (Mark Hefti) has come to the New Jersey shore to end his life. Despite Greg's best efforts to end his suffering in the cool waters of the Atlantic, his plans are unexpected thwarted when kind local Julie Peterson (Scout Taylor-Compton) saves him from death at the last minute. Upon realizing that his near drowning was not an accident but a desperate attempt to end the pain of losing everything that has ever mattered in his life, Julie vows to save Greg emotionally as well. Though the pair fast become friends, it seems that everyone in her life - including the alcoholic police chief, a bitterly jealous admirer, her doting father and unsympathetic stepmother - is determined to dissuade her from her selfless mission. Now, as Julie looks past the obstacles in her way and focuses her energy on providing hope for a man who was nearly broken by life's tragedies, Julie shows the people around her that in order to truly live you must let go of the pain and embrace the future without the fear and cynicism that seems to permiate everyone's lives. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
