Nat Johnson, Village Voice
Thankfully, Torque knows what it wants to be ... and flashes a jocular self-awareness about its genre affiliation.
-
Stephanie Zacharek, Salon.com
Produces little in the way of rotation, torsion or anything else that could be roughly diagrammed as excitement.
-
Michael O'Sullivan, Washington Post
A towering bore.
-
Ann Hornaday, Washington Post
The loudest, trashiest, stupidest, cheesiest celebration of ritualized male aggression of 2004.
-
Joe Leydon, Variety
Even the more attention-grabbing scenes are too obviously faked to build suspense, and too confusingly cut to sustain continuity.
-
Mike Clark, USA Today
The script here is irredeemably 2 fetid and 2 foolish.
-
Nell Minow, Common Sense Media
Silly and violent, mostly comprised of stunts.
-
Oz, eFilmCritic.com
If you want to see Matrix on bikes, Torque is the stuff. Just as long as you don't want any of that... what do they call it? Acting or something?
-
Vince Koehler, Entertainment Spectrum
Get ready to take an exhilarating motorcycle ride with Torque.
-
John J. Puccio, Movie Metropolis
...brainless, dull, nonstop action, flashing lights, loud noises, and raucous music for the sake of keeping our mind off the fact that nothing is actually happening.
-
John J. Puccio, Movie Metropolis
Torque is so awful it would have embarrassed Roger Corman forty years ago.

Well, a lot action in a movie can be good, but sometimes if you put it too much, it can be a weaker point too, just like this movie.... The action scene with the motor racing thing was great, knowing that motor is more difficult to be filmed than car... The story just okay, but one thing that I don't like from this movie is the cast... Martin Henderson don't fit for the main character of this movie... He's not cool, not handsome, and more important that he's not winning everybody's heart... But the worst came from Ice Cube... He really really didn't fit to the role he played in this movie... If I have to be honest, maybe he's not destined to be an actor... The other cast just okay, just that two actors that make a big hole to this movie, besides the action scene that too much and the 'amateur' directing style this movie have....

A cool MTV style movie about biker gangs. A bit like Fast and Furious but on 2 wheels instead. It has a cool, young cast, thumping soundtrack and some good chase scenes. Slightly over do the SFX in some scenes getting way beyond reality but overall an enjoyable action film.

Total guilty pleasure. I cackle at its badness.
-
Cool <i>The Fast and the Furious</i> on motorbikes best sums up this actioner full of mediocre dialogue, amateurish CGI and blatant product placement.

WOW! It's the Fast & the Furious on motorcycles! Torque is a ridiculous film from the producers of the Fast & the Furious, and it's basically the same movie except for a few key points. First they didn't have the budget of the Fast & the Furious which is evident by the stunts, which at times actually looked like a video game. I'm all for stunt men doing impossible things, and I don't mind good computer generated action either, however the CGI in Torque is just ridiculously bad, it is however nowhere near as bad as the acting. Instead of Vin Diesel and the dashing Paul Walker, the producers of this film settled for Ice Cube and some guy no one has ever heard of and trust me, the inexperience shows. This film is just as bad as all the other reviews say it is. Some poorly written, badly acted films, can be entertaining...Torque is not!

A short, stiff, egomaniacal, and hopelessly cliched piece of crap.
-
The greatest motorcycles movie. A lot has changed in the biker-movie genre since Hell's Angels on Wheels, and Torque may be the new benchmark of feverish chopper action.

Cary Ford returns to Los Angeles after spending six months in Thailand, where he fled to avoid being framed as a drug dealer. It turns out that Ford was actually holding bikes for the real drug-dealer, Henry James (Matt Schulze), leader of a motorcycle gang, the Hellions who wants his bikes and his drugs back. Meanwhile, Cary has managed to get himself in a bit of a spat with the leader of a rival bike gang named the Reapers, led by Trey (Ice Cube), and when Henry James notices the friction, he decides to kill Trey's brother and frame Cary to attempt to flush him out. All the while, Cary is being tailed by two zealous DEA agents, Agent McPherson (Adam Scott) and Agent Henderson (Justina Machado) who are still convinced that Cary is a drug dealer. Will Ford run away again or to try and clear his name?
This movie is a lot more fun than most of the previous reviewers have given it credit for. We have street bikes, sizzling hot babes in tight leather outfits and good looking young studs, a biker gang that resembles the Hell's Angels, cocky cops dressed in thousand dollar suits who ride around in expensive vehicles, throw in some outrageous stunts mix it all together with explosives and we have a fast paced movie we can call Torque", with unstoppable action and a feast for action lovers and video-games fans.

Any discerning film lover can rip this film apart. You can start with the poor script, move on to the pretentious camerawork and then laugh at some of the poor acting-though Monet Mazur keeps her head above the sludge. However, if you accept that this is MADE for 15 year old, MTV loving petrol-heads, it's actually surprisingly good fun.

Not good, I either fell asleep or I changed the channel. Technically I haven't seen it since I didn't finish watching it.
-
