I liked this. It was adorable. I LOVED Alim's mother, she was hilarious, and very beautiful. Good story, I enjoyed the cultural twist on it. Enjoyable.
The best thing about this movie is the mother. She is bloody hilarious! The whole Cary Grant as an imaginary friend thing just gets weirder, and robotic. This movie is amusing.... at times.
A search to be free and yourself is 'Touch of Pink'. A man whose longtime friend is someone from his imagination that speaks from the point of view as Cary Grant. The movie is not subtle, but an array of colours and textures that is enjoyable to partake.
I loved this film with all my heart! It's all about revealing the truth whether you know it or not because in the end there is only one thing left to reconcile to, the truth. And that's what I liked so very much about this movie, it that it had so much to tell and with the gay couple still trying to figure out their relationship, there were other things finally unfolding.
This was a pretty good movie. It's a gay romantic comedy. It's about a guy named Alim who was raised Muslim and who is living in London with his English boyfriend Gilles. His mother, who lives in Canada, doesn't know he's gay and she comes for a visit. After finding out what is really going on, the mother heads back to Canada and Alim & Gilles go their seperate ways. Alim goes to Canada to straighten things out with his mother. And well, you'll have to watch to find out the rest. Oh, one more thing, Alim has an invisible friend who happens to be Carey Grant, who helps him along with his problems. Some parts were kind of slow and not the greatest but all-in-all, it was a great movie that's worth seeing.
It was fun to watch, but of course not the best movie ever. Only if you feel like watching something light hearted. It seems like there's really a "gay movie" genre now and they're all kind of similar..
Just like television these days, gay-themed movies are becoming a more popular genre. There aren't very many gay-themed movies that are actually realistic with a decent script and acting. The movie is touching despite being flawed in many ways. Jimi Mistry's performance was horrible and Giles and Alim had almost no chemistry. The production values were amateurish. The biggest problem for me with the movie was that Alim's character was not fleshed out at all even in the screenplay level.
This is a great movie! The mother (from India) is beautiful and wonderful. The son is afraid to tell her he's gay - so he's distant; the boyfriend gets along with the mother better than he does. Oh, there's more - lots more - so see it! Far better than average.
Of all the gay romantic comedies out there, this one is probably my favorite. It's a pretty good film, but not fully developed...worth watching for the hopeless romantic inside of you...
It's cute and gay! A nice breath of fresh air considering the lack of light hearted gay themed movies. The main character is adorable and the movie has a lovely quirky turn to it.
this movie just makes me want to go "AWWWWWWWWW..." like really bad. haha.. its a lovely lovely romantic comedy and kristen holden-reid is a dreammmm. :)
Yeah, uh. what'shisface... Raoul Bhaneja. I hate him. fine.. strongly dislike.. He wasn't very nice to me, when I met him, and he keeps appearing in everything now.. it's almost like he's haunting me!! :(
This film is a great love story involving an attractive but closeted Indian man, his sexy English partner and his domineering mother that has no idea what her son is really up to. Kyle Maclaghlin does a great Cary Grant impersonation too. A wonderful film.
A classier Pakistani/Canadian version of Drop Dead Fred. Kyle macLachlans Carrey Grant was impressive. The english boyfrined was pretty cute. We can't all be slave to expectations.
What do you get when you're gay AND you come from a culture that ABSOLUTELY DOES NOT ALLOW IT?!?!? You create an imaginary friend who's a lot like a classic movie star from Hollywood's golden age so that he may give you advice as to what to do. This movie is soooo cute. It's basically the same storyline as Bend It Like Beckham, except there's no soccer and the main character in this movie is a gay man who likes playing with a different sort of balls. Alim must hide the fact that he's gay to his mother, a stereotypically conservative Indian woman who is coming to visit him. The comedy that ensues is somewhat predictable but also very funny and endearing. Kyle MacLachlan is superb as the Spirit of Cary Grant and is probably one of his better performances in recent memory! Except for his role in Showgirls, of course! Kidding. Watch this movie. It'll make you laugh-- or at least chuckle and relax.
I really didn't like it too much at first..but now when I think bank, it actually wasn't too bad. It's enjoyable and I've recommended a few people to watch it just for fun.
Esta pelicula muestra las actitudes en cuanto a homosexualidad tomadas entre miembros de una misma familia. La familia es musulmuna de Kenya pero de ascendencia India.
