Tautly directed by Richard Fleischer, Trapped is a prime example of le film noir. Lloyd Bridges stars as an ex-counterfeiter, sprung from jail by the Feds. To win permanent freedom, Bridges must help the treasury agents round up his old gang. Not surprisingly, the time comes in the course of events that Bridges is found out by his former cronies. Like many films of its period, Trapped is related in semi-documentary fashion, a technique somewhat undercut by Fleischer's overuse of the back-projection screen.
