Marc Price plays teenager Eddie who is a superfan of heavy metal music. When his hero Sammy Curr dies suspiciously in a hotel fire he is given a studio demo on which contains incantations to bring sammy back to life. school pranks and revenge on chavvy bullies ensue but then sammy wants more and lots of killing ensues. low budget hokum but, very watchable and a cameo from both Gene simmons and Ozzy!
the 80s, rock 'n roll and horror! do I have to say anything else?? it can't be better..don't understand why I havent seen this before..loved the old records, tapes and freestyles :) always great to go back 20 years before all the cellphones and computers..can't help to think that the makers of the bad ass movie Brainscan was inspired by this movie :)
Remember 'Skippy' from 'Family Ties?' Well, he is the real star of this. Ozzy - appearing on the box(!) - only has a brief cameo; one of three such that I am aware of (the other two being 'Little Nicky' and 'Goldmember'). Good 80's camp horror.
It was a good movie in it's time but now w/ all the effects it's kinda cheesie but I still enjoy watching this movie. 2nd Rock Roll movie I had ever seen! Love the music score. Awsome MOVIE! A must see!
a pure trick and treat--great horror flick--a pure 80's classic--what better cast for a horror flick--gene simmons and ozzy osbourne:)--excellent soundtrack by fastway--livin after midnight:)
More for advertising purposes saying that Ozzy is in the film when he's only in for a small portion. But good that he plays a God fearing Christian in the movie, other than that it was okay. Not terribly scary, but good for when it was made.
I remember back in the eighties when the talk was about heavy metal and backmasking. Funny stuff, but a decent movie about all that. Acting was pretty godo too.
in simple terms...and the three words to put this movie in to perspective....pure "1" 80s "2" trash..."3" thats all it is...dont let the cover fool you becuase all it is is cameos by old kiss boy and ozzy but is it worth watching for them? well genes eh no... for ozzys? HELL YES! becuase it is funny as fuck...i wont spoil it for you but it is a way you never thought youd see ozzy... but in general its a movie for people who are fans of eather 80s metal and think satan is cool or people who like 80s B grade garbage... what can i say?... i love it..
This 80s horror film is sort of cheesy but its heart is in the right place. And how can you not love a movie that has cameos by both OZZY OSBOURNE and KISS frontman Gene Simmons. The kdi who plyed Skippy on FAMILY TIES is the lone metalhead in a school full of jerks...but he'll get HIS revenge. A must for 80s metal heads everywhere!
OMG! This shoulda made the CULT list! Original story and noone has done it since! (well not that i know) There's room for more... how about it? This was one of my favs as a teen
I was a major headbanger back in the '80s, and I ended up seeing this movie about fifteen times in the theater. And, as much as I hate to admit it, 20 years later, I still love watching it. The late, great Tony Fields - a dancer by profession - did a phenomenal job as the gleefully wicked rock star, Sammi Curr. Ozzy Osbourne is just hysterical to watch as a Bible-thumping, anti-Heavy Metal preacher (of all things). And Gene Simmons is...well, Gene Simmons. A great parody of all of the back-masking hype that was going on back then - and a major jab at the PMRC. Good stuff.
This movie was not the greatest...but it's not the worst....I'm a bit less than neutral on this one. I just can't see past "Skippy" (Marc Price) in this movie...all in all...this movie is more bad than good...but it's one that you can't watch just once. Gene Simmons and Ozzy Osbourne were slated as the "stars" of this movie....not the case.
