If only they showed this in history classes, I bet more students would remember and pass. Classic film a must for anyone remotely intereseted in history (or not)
A feast on Brad Pitt's body :p With a touch of Orlando Bloom. WHat else do you want? Still, I think I was waiting for something more, I'm picky, I'm not denying it.
Ridiculous. But... Angelina is in it. I am also very unhappy that they closed down the beach in Cabo when I was there for the filming of this movie. Lame.

A stunning film. The fight scenes and acting were outstanding, made a change from Orlando Bloom being the big hero. A variety of themes and genres for everyone to enjoy. My one criticism is that it was so long and some of it seemed a bit unnecessary. But still a brilliant film.
This was a good movie and i enjoyed a lot, but it was long and at times I was feeling like it would never end, but hey that's not that bad, it was a great movie with a great cast.
I must say, Troy is one of my favorite movies of all times. Brad Pitt is awesome as Achilles. It is visually spectacular. The battle scenes were stunning, and the backdrops were lush. GREAT! Everything about it was great.
"Troy" is the story of the Greeks' bloody attack on the city of which the movie is named after lead by "Achilles" (Brad Pitt) to bring back "Helen of Troy" (Diane Kruger) to her homeland of Sparta.
The movie is reminicent to the movies of the 1960's visually. The story is a bit weak and lags somewhat, as is some of the acting.
The visuals look amazing, but I watched the movie on a television. This is the kind of movie that must be seen on the silver screen. From what I could see, the director picked the most spectacular shots he could come up with. I was amazed by how the scenery, especially the battles, filled the screen all the way to the distance. There is however way too much tan and brown colors thanks to the buildings and sand that dominates the screen.
Eric Bana and Orlando Bloom have standout performances in "Troy". In fact, I didn't recognize either until I read the cast on Yahoo Movies. Veteran actor Peter O'Toole sadly had only one scene that he stole. Sadly, O'Toole didn't have a bigger role.
Another fine performance was by Pitt. His delivery of the lines could have been better though. Pitt truly stands out in the battle scenes, especially when he is one-on-one with an opponent.
None of the other actors truly stood out in this film. And most of their performances were not as good as a blockbuster movie should have to make it memorable.
A problem with the performances is that none of them are great enough for you to actually care for them. You don't have much sympathy for any who die, including Pitt at the end (sorry for the spoiler). If all involved tried harder, the performances would have stood out like the visuals.
If you want to see a spectacularly visual movie, then this will fit the bill. I do recommend you get the wide-screen format to truly appreciate the scenery. Just don't expect truly amazing performances that a cast such as this could do.
To sum it up, "Troy" is not the epic it was intended to be. All it is is a visually amazing movie with only fair performances that were almost, but not quite perfect.
Awsome movie, sooo good.I love the fights and the history behind it all!!!!But man...did I cry!!!Though like Hollywood of course they screwed up the actual story and didn't stay true to it,I enjoyed it and thankfully since I am a Greek and Egyptian history buff,I filled in the missing parts of the story with the truth and crap but after like 50 minutes I was like "oh screw it" and just watched the movie not caring if they were or if they weren't sticking to the movie.
i loved it and i love brad pitt he is so hot and i wish i was in the movie with him because ibrad is so hot i really wish i colud have been at the movie prmerie but my mom didnot wut to see the movie but my friends tookme to see it i wish was with her now
Wow I freaking loved the moves they gave Brad in this movie and Peter O'Toole come on, when he went into that tint and asked for his son wow what a moment! I just wanted to kill Orlando Blooms character the whole reason for this tragedy! This will be one of a few films I will give full stars for!
brad pitt's but, and that makes it worth watching. i so don't like orlando bloom here, he is such a wimp...and it is so sad that eric bana died that way...and of course that brad pitt died
I was very disappointed. It has everything: sword-fighting, epic battles, epic setting, love and hatred... but it wasn't that good. Eric Bana = awesome heroic leader who was the best character in the whole thing. He's the only reason I ever watch this movie. Boromir needed a bigger part. Achilles = huge jerk that annoyed me the whole time. Legolas = huge pansy that annoyed me the whole time. I just wanted to slap him. AND KILL HIM OFF for goodness sake! That's what happens in the book! It's his fault this all started, at least make him suffer for what he did.
An adaption of an epic.. With that in the description in my opinion it will be direly long and kind of boring. I wasn't far off it. Although at times it was exciting but with films like this i get bored half way through and only remember the gore
Could have been so much better. Turned out very silly in places (e.g. fleet hiding..... my god) - but all in all, a fun action flick - just don't take it as seriously as the film thinks it is.
Orlando Bloom seems talentless as the detestable Paris, but is that where the genius of his portrail lies? . . . at any rate it's infuriating enough for me to rate the movie down for it.
