Al Pacino was great as always, and Matthew McConaughey of course was smokin' hot with that awesome set of abs!! lol anyway seriously i enjoyed it... very good!
Al Pacino. Gambling. Money. I thought it was going to be just great... I must say I was disappointed.
A scatter-brainier, Caruso did mediocre enough job explaining the world of sports betting, so making the viewer believe that a guy like Brad Lang could be whisked away to New York and make hundreds of thousands of dollars after a few good weeks of picking games, doesn't seem very believable.
Anyone who watches any sport (and places a bet or two - me not included, though I know people who do) knows you can have a couple of HOT weeks, but no one is going to show up at your door and pay you bags full of money to do it professionally.
The New York Times | Manohla Dargis A confusion of tones, intentions and allusions, Two for the Money lurches from upbeat to downbeat without ever settling into a coherent groove.
It just didn't seem that their was any passion in this movie. I wanted to like it but McConaughey and Pacino seemed like they were just in it for the money
Al Pacino gives a powerhouse performance, he shows us once again why he's the best actor of his generation and never fails to deliver. Matthew McCounahgy is at the top of his game, showing off his movie star charisma and that he can stand with his veteran mentor. A real adreniline rush. A slick, cool and wickedly funny thriller.
Movie with a good plot and edge of your seat excitement... very easy to get caught up in the characters and the plot. Plot: A star college football player, at the top of his game, blows out his knee forcing him to choose a new profession. He winds up getting into the sports gambling business and is recruited by a man who runs one of the best sports-booking operations in the country.
this movie sucked so badly. all that talent... what a waste... terrible story, terrible execution, etc. i'll never understand how talent like this makes such huge mistakes...
Simple story but nice...you will digest the movie easier if you exposed to sports gambling...
Al Pacino is stil good but not as great as in 70s and 80s...
generally the acting is acceptable...not bad....
the ending is quite surpising and dramatic...
With a cast like this... it was hard to make a bad movie.. nevertheless... it's not as good as it could have been, mainly because of the way the movie is filmed..
It lacks intensity in the right moments.. but it's still a good movie
Great movie. The combination of Al and Matthew makes for a great show. At first, I didn't think I would like it...but once the game was set you had to see the ending!! Very cool.
I heard McConaughey is an esteemed connoisseur of all things weed. He seems pretty spliffed out in all of his films, like he's barely holding it together. I saw a few minutes of this movie on television and he seems particulary "mellow" in this one.
Story is original, but it is quite long winded. Shows you the world of predicting the winners of football but not really much about what gambling really is all about. At the end Matthew quit and became a football coach.
actually a good film. i had my doubts before buying this but for some reason i still wanted to watch it. pacino is as always commanding whenever on screen. mcconaughey and russo dont let the side down but never live up to their full potential.
enjoyable and worth watching but i thin kit could be boring to most
Interesting story and awsome confrontation between Pacino & McConaughey, no doubt thay are both very talented actors, and Rene Russo's part was also great.
