Critic Reviews from Rotten Tomatoes

"The intent is perhaps some kind of dark tone poem, and the cinematography (by Jody Lee Lipes) is lovely. But oh, the tedium."
‑ Neil Genzlinger, New York Times
"Once the mother dies and the brothers' trip begins, the film becomes little more than a slow journey into banal observation."
‑ Andrew Schenker, Village Voice
"A sparse and meticulous ode to the ritual of family and the sometimes-perverse nature of the last request."
‑ Robert Tumas, Slant Magazine
