OMG. This movie is kick-ass. This movie rocks. Milla Jovovich does an AMAZING job (as usual). The action is mind-blowing, the special effects are stunning. Just an all-around "AWESOME" Movie.
It must be hard resurrecting a marvel hero unto live action films. Few have made the cut but most have stunk just like this one.
I'm a Millia fan but this was just pathetic. The plot was horrid, it was boring and there was no character depth. The only thing I liked was her costumes. lol
The filmmakers have had a huge attempt to create something totally new and astonishing like "The Matrix" back in 1999. Well, it only is an attempt. I can't remember when did I last see a movie where I almost dozed off.
The story is set in the future and there's a civil war between the government and these blood infected humans aka "vampires".
Well, fuck me sideways and set the truth free. The truth is... It's crap. But because they did have an effort to create something with a "wow" factor, I'll give an extra half of a star.
first i thought its such an animation movie but after scenes moves its i guessed that peoples have acted in it... and the actions are good but almost everything not so real... all are funny but the efforts of the stunt group team can be HATE OFF.. and must be grateful to them of such an action film.. rather then nothing so good... ACTION SPEAKS...
It's not the type of film I would've chosen to watch...It was like Van Helsing meets The Matrix meets Kill Bill...But I really enjoyed it! 5 stars from me definitely! =D
Poor Milla, even her sexy fighting couldn't save this poorly written and directed film. Points for the stylized cinematography, but the supporting actors, esp the main villian and over the top and bordering on ridiculous
I thought this movie was going to be so awesome! yet alas it was disappointing. Great effects but laking plot and real attention holding. It had a cool fire sword scene which totally coulda been way cooler! Therefore one whole star and a half to the special effects team for making this movie not a complete and total waste.
A hot woman with a sword kicking ass, sounds like a good movie, right?. They basically had an idea here, but the execution was bad, just bad. I was confused throughout this whole film. Even the action sequences couldn't bring this film up.
It was a good kick arse movie with meaning. I enjoyed it. Milla I thought was a very good leading lady. the effects where good but at some points I did think hang on that's ridiculas!
This is a bit of a misstep for Kurt Wimmer, who really knocked it out of the park with his visual style in Equilibrium. The style is all still here - as well as a beautiful new colour scheme - but the story is lacking. You'll never guess what this movie is about from the get-go: vampires. This reminds me of Aeon Flux in its eye candy, but with all the flat characters and the nothing story, it doesn't amoung to much.
I actually have enjoyed this much more than expected. The action and special effects was just pure eye candy, you can watch it over and over and to still enjoy it. On top of that it was very artistic with lots of perfectly selected colour combinations. The plot was weak and not original, but that doesn't matter because the action and pure atmosphere of the film raise its rewatching value. And of course the main heroine was very cool. This is the first time I actually found Mila Jovovich hot.
Desearía decir que este filme de sci fi supera en trabajo a lo que ha hecho Milla antes en películas de este tipo como Resident Evil pero no es asi, si logra una presentación muy dinámica y genial en cuanto a la acción pero no es tan buena aún así es recomendable para entretenerse con las escenas de acción.
i actually adored this movie. the action scenes were fun, the animation and over all look of the movie, really pretty amazing. i love the originality of some of the futuristic gadgets...admitedly, the writing wasn't the best, but actors did pretty good with what they were given. this movie was really cool, and definately extremely entertaining.
Stunts were great. Still, this movie fails due to a storyline that severely lacked clarity and substance. Watching this movie felt like biting into a great looking steak, only to discover that it wasn't as delicious as it looked.
This was my kind of movie. I really don't know why people don't like it. It was a great ction movie and I found it really interesting. the fights were awesome of course and I have decided that if Milla quits doing action movies, I will cry. She was great.
the movie is visuall pretty, smooth, and sleek, a little too much so. however, this is justified by the societies fear of jerms. the comic book style action that pushes cartoony i found to be very exciting, but most people im sure will find it fake and cheesey. all in all its awsome eye candy with amazing choreography and cinematography.
