Plot: A horror film director is stalked by a mad psychiatrist/serial killer bent on killing people to model the killings after the director's gory death scenes from his movies.
Lucio Fulci (the father of Italian gore) plays himself (quite well too) in this horror film. This film had much more dark humour than any of his previous films (his most famous ones being ZOMBIE FLESH EATERS, THE BEYOND and THE NEW YORK RIPPER to name but a few gory masterpieces) and is probably one of his most goriest films too.
I really liked the idea of this film (a horror director is constantly haunted by violent images) and the gore looks very good. The only bad thing I can think about this film is that a lot of it is made of from footage of his previous work and the intended message attacking censorship is actually 'proven' in this film.
A great Fulci film with lots of violence and a nice twist at the very end. Shame he died the same year.
accidentally recorded this luckily i watched it, soon realized it was this, (had some non descriptive name)
Ultra gory low-budget movie directed and acted by Lucio Fulci. In spite of its faults (bad acting, rough splatter effects, almost inexistent plot), I really enjoyed this crazy and bizarre film.
Fulci plays himself, or rather a horror director who after many years of making bloody and violent films begins to suffer from terrific hallucinations. He decides to contact a psychiatrist who, unfortunately, reveals to be a psychopathic serial killer.
Thanks to this movie Fulci can finally show his strong dislike for Psychoanalys and reply with sarcasm and black humor to those theories which accuse horror movies to be a dangerous inspiration for murders and rapes.
Lucio Fulci's last (and weakest) giallo film featuring scenes from some of Lucio's other films and films by directors such as Umberto Lenzi and Andrea Bianchi.
Lucio Fulci's New Nightmare. Years before Wes Craven wrote himself into a film as the director who is so awesome his work becomes real, Fulci wrote himself as a sleazy, psychotic mess. With clips from his lesser known films and an outrageous performance from Fulci himself I'm always floored when Fulci fans say they hate this one.
This film, directed by Lucio Fulci, tells the story of... director Lucio Fulci(!!), a horror-filmmaker who begins to have strange hallucinations related to his last movie. Easily enjoyable and with a funny and original ending.
