Highly enjoyable film with a smooth script, great performances and very solid direction. At times it feels more like a traditional hollywood western, lacking any of the excess of other italo-westerns of the time. While everyone was going for the violent epic, full of ruthless characters and with cold faced anti-heros "Una Pistola per Ringo" has a brighter mood. Sure, Ringo is still looking for his personal benefit, but his clean face, constant smile and always sharp humour sets him apart from the rest of the pack.
A big hit in europe, spawning one sequel, and the always innevitable clones of the time, Una Pistola per Ringo is sadly not given the respect it deserves. Had this being made in the states with Gary Cooper in the lead everyone would regard it as a classic.
