This movie surpasses the original as far as story development. This movie delivers high doses of fight scenes, vampire and lycan lore, blood, violence, and Kate Beckinsale wearing leather or less in great excess. This movie also introduced to some new characters and plot lines that add interest and new twists, rather than just rehashing all the familiar faces from Underworld. Very enjoying movie.
Pointless sequel to an overrated first feature. Scott Speedman is still a terrible actor and Kate Beckinsale needs a break from vampire flicks. But then again when your husband is the director who needs to go elsewhere.
Great fight scenes and visual effects. Kate Beckinsale is great here. The only disappointing part was the 'love' interest because it ruins the 'mood' of the film.
I liked the whole going back to the beginning and expanding the story and letting you see more thing, instead of telling a diffirent story. Wicked, cool action and intresting, just like the first one.
i love this movie! it was totally awesome! and the previous movie had a lot of gaps in it and i liked how in this one it answered alot of unanswered questions as well as adding new questions to the mix. plus kate beckinsale and scott speedman are great and have great chemistry! :)
I don't really remember the plot too well, but I do remember an opening with werewolves and vampires with swords and armor fighting it out, and I did like that bit. The rest is familair good guy vs. bad guy, no one to trust, back against the wall act...(read more)ion, with a few flashbacks here and there for cohesivness. The film quality and cinematography was excellent, and the action sequences fluid and not choppy as say Transformers. I watched this on tv, and it killed some time. The Underworld franchise could be interesting if it just wasn't so damn cleche with it's forbidden love story angle, and cleaned up a few other cleches as well. Still it was better and a wee bit more imaginative than alot of what passes for action films these days.
More blood, more leather, less plot (alright, more convoluted, less effort carrying it out). Scott Speedman still can't act to save his life, and his mug is still ugly. And yes, the vampires and werewolves are still fighting. From a philosophical view, how has it developed? What have we added? Tightly simulated sex in the back of a truck. Yes, just after a battle. That's the way it happens with vampires, you see: they fight, then they fuck. Really, people, as if the blood squirting wasn't enough to keep you entertained! What low attention spans you have.
This sequel lacks the simple beauty of the first film. I hate it when stories completely remove the spiritual aspect from Vampires. (namely crucifix, holy water, etc.) This film made that mistake in favour of "evolution"... and the basic result was a movie just like X-men 2. Except with vampires and werewolves instead of wolverine and phoenix. On the other hand, the opening scene taking place in 1208 a.d. was pretty awesome. I found myself wishing the entire movie took place in medieval times.
GREAT great movie, i ily it! lol its a fantastic movie, i recommend it. if you like a good vampire/lycan movie, or you just like blood its great for both lol
As good as the first one. The prequel has more character development and, well, it was the entry to the series after all. This film relies on the historical background and in more pervasive violence and gore. I loved it anyway. Recommended if you liked the first one.

wow i have not seen this movie in ages but this is a cracking movie...imn not sure which is better this or the 1st 1 because they are both so good 2 see..the fight scenes throughout this movie were incredible, the special effects throughout this movie were really good throughout this movie...imn not sure which is better this or the 1st 1 because they are both so good,the fight scenes were really kewl throughout..kate beckinsale is beautiful n sexxi n she plays a good lead role throughout this movie
