Michael Jai White vs Scott Adkins = surprisingly badass fight sequences

I decent, if not terribly original, flick that sports some excellent action courtesy of Scott Adkins, Michael Jai White and choreographer J.J. Perry.

It's easily one of the better american made martial arts flicks out there.

i muz say.. kinda like the fight scene done by scott adkins.. it reminds me of bloodsport movie by JCVD..

i gave 3 stars due to the similar scene found in other movies.. not much originality to the plot scene... it could hv been better..

I just recently watched this gem from Nu Image, and must highly recommend it to any fan of action/fighting movies.

Directed by Isaac Florentine, Undisputed II: Last Man Standing stars Michael Jae White and Scott Adkins. White is a spoiled, but broke, fighter who is framed and f...( read more)alsely imprisoned to fight in an underground bloodsport for Eastern European baddies. He's great as the cocky, arrogant SOB who can really dish out some whoop ass.

Let me just say that, even though Michael Jae White is top-billed here, the real star is Scott Adkins, who provides the film's most impressive fight sequences. He plays a Russian fighter who's convinced he's the "world's most perfect fighter," and eggs on White to get in the ring with him.. Adkins comes off like a cross between Tong Po from Kickboxer and has a haircut like Michael Qissi from 'Lionheart,' but his physical abilities more than make up for the short-bus hairdo.

There are lots of nods to big underground fighting movies of the past, Bloodsport in particular; and fans of those 80s films will find lots to like (or nitpick at) here. Lots of echoes to Ong Bak as well, I noticed.

That being said, Undisputed 2 is hardly a perfect film. It receives 3-1/2 mostly because I didn't expect too much @ all when I watched it, and was surprised by the action sequences. The plot itself is corny, tired, and definitely been done before. The acting is subpar (White's highest dramatic moments come when he's telling guards to "heat this shit up" or complaining that "it's muthafuckin' cold out here"), the dramatic sequences flat (SPOILER ALERT!: the subplot involving the old guy in the wheelchair and his niece was especially cheesy). But Undisputed II doesn't pretend it's reinventing the Shawshank Redemption here. It's pure blood, sweat, and MMA.

I was surprised this movie didn't make it to theaters; we don't get too many fight movies like Bloodsport theatrical anymore, and I think Undisputed II would've done pretty well. That being said, I think it's also pretty sad that, with half the budget, Undisputed II managed to blow the last few Seagal and JCVD DTV offerings straight out of the water.

Okay but 2002 original was waaay better. Decent enough action scenes but Michael Jai White is no Wesley Snipes or Ving Rhames that's for sure!

I loved this movie. The setting was amazing - russia , cold , harsh prison , harsh jailer , harsh sewage system , fights were killer , amazing kick boxing / street fighting, etc , etc , etc.
The punishments were painful. But they tried to show how good russian people are. there were some heart warming scenes like when he's out all nite tied to a pole in & in the morning the inmates give him their warm clothes & vidka , & in the end when he unites the handicapped guy with his neice ( notice the music & the snow , etc ). Also the 1st encounter between the good guy & the bad guy in the dining room was thrilling. Well Done .
