To be honest I was disapointed. It had the makings of a great film with the marvilous cast and the storyline.I felt the ending got a bit lost and some of the charactors weren't introduced very well

A very good if short thriller about 5 guys who wake up in a warehouse with short term memory loss. They deduct that 2 of them are hostages and 3 are kidnappers, but who is who?
Great idea for a thriller and it has a fine cast and a couple of twists along the way as you try to guess who the bad guys are. Worth checking out.

It did have alot of good actors which I think was the main reason why I watched it. But I didn't really liked it at first, but I can say it is an OK film to watch.

Five men wakes up not knowing who they are in some kind of warehouse. Didn't really sound like a film that I would find insteresting. But after seeing the trailer I did become insterested, and overall it turned out to be good with a good twisted in the end.

It kept me insterested about 65% of the way through, then I figured it out. I probably wouldn't suggest seeing it or buying it though.

It was a great idea for a film but it just had a few to many problems. It went a bit slow even though it's under 90 minutes long and the ending just kept being a twist on a twist on a twist when it didn't need to be. A chame really because the idea was a good one just let down a bit

I felt the need to paste the premise in this review, because seriously, that is one of the best ideas for a suspense film I've ever heard. A great story with a fairly short length and some decent acting. Doesn't go overboard on the twists, and a nice ending. So why why why don't I like this more than I do? It just seems the acting and directing, while acceptable, don't measure up to the story.

A great movie!! Jim played his part perfectly! He couldn't have done it any better! The film is quite confusing until you get the hang of it! The plot of the film is great, it keeps you hooked up till the end, trying to figure out who is the bad guy and the good ones! But I didn't want McCain to die, poor guy!

with some very good actors i.e. james caviezel, joe pantoliano, barry pepper and jeremy sisto in it you knew you were gonna be okay on that side of things. however the mystery of it all, the direction by simon brand and the writing of matthew waynee (two virtually unknowns themselves) combine to make this an uncompromising thriller. also to be noted is the fact of most of the film taking place in one building. the budget to make this very entertaining flick must've been very restricting... yet it was still solid. when viewing it's best the 1st time round

Well, the title says it all. I mean, look at the cast! A friend of mine stumbled upon it and said I had to check it out. Five men stranded together as the line of good and bad merges. It's a race against time to find out identity and choose sides as the baddies approach. Really hectic and great character performances. It's in the 10 bucks or less bin at most stores as well.

Wow is that Weasel actor an annoying prat or what. As soon as he woke up I wanted someone to kill his character off asap. He definitely acted the worst out of everyone. Kinnear was surprisingly decent and I wished that at least he would gain the edge but nooo. Not to mention the predictable twist at the end, which made me despise that weasel even more. The mystery aspect was poor and the suspense minimal. Also what a waste of Pantoliano and Stormare who along with Kinnear acted the best and had the cooler/amusing characters. Only because of their performances I'm not giving a lower rating. Dunno if I should just avoid films with that weasel or finally watch the Passion, at least that one would have a satisfying ending for me. Meh.

Very much a b-movie, Unknown features a decent cast (some of whom are a bit short changed) and an intriguing premise: five men wake up in various states (some injured, some handcuffed) with no memory of who they are or where they are, and must piece together the clues to discover what's going on. Paranoia soon sets in as they each experience flashbacks that give them bits of info suggesting that things may be even more complicated than they seem, and they begin to come to conclusions about who the good guys and who the bad guys are.

Competently performed, most of the action is confined to the warehouse itself (which is a shame as the scenes in the bathroom have a much more interesting feel to them) and the whole thing feels a little 'stagey'. Oh, and the flashback sequences are annoyingly edited and hecitcally filmed, making them difficult to follow. What keeps Unknown interesting is the energy in some of the acting, the escalating paranoia and the constant twists that keep you guessing - a shame then that the final reveal is rather disappointing and obvious. Worth a rental.

    UNKNOWN (2006)
    directed by Simon Brand
starring James Caviezel, Greg Kinnear, Barry Pepper

Five men wakes up in some kind of factory/warehouse and they all dont know what they are doing there cause they suffer from amnesia. Thats how the movie starts. Soon we know there is a kidnapping plot involved and everything gets intriguing as the five men try to figure out which one of them are the bad guys and who are the good ones. They obviously dont trust each other and some tension happens.

Unknown is nothing like Reservoir Dogs - an obvious inspiration - cause it never gets as intense as the Tarantino movie but the plot is interesting and it drags you in. As it slowly unfold we get to understand and slowly figure who is who at the same time as the characters but their actions are sometimes questionable.

All actors give fairly good performances and the script is somehow clever, although better dialogues could have been expected and the editing is often annoying, The film was alright until the last minute, it was always interesting and the turns and twists are some how credible and make sense but the last three minutes just made it fail where it had almost previously succeeded during its short running time. Not bad but it will be easily forgotten.

I like Jim Caviezel as an actor and I really like Unknown and how it is just pure suspense the enitre time. I like how the guys just wake up in the middle of know where and known of them know who they are...get it 'unknown'

This flick was very interesting... I had a hard time deciding if I liked it or not... I think the first half is really compelling and the acting is great... I guess it just didn't turn out as I had hoped. In the end, I decided that I liked it, but wished they had done a few things differently - including some effects and continuity glitches.

Stellar cast on offer, so i thought I'd take a look and wasnt disappointed.

5 strangers wake up in a warehouse with no recollection of who they are or what they are doing there and no way of getting out til the other kidnappers arrive. So its trust time, who is who??? Definitely kept my interest and solid performances from Caviezel, Pepper & Kinnear!

    The Good:
    - small twist at the end made it worth watching
    - Everyone acted good and director manage to hold the story pretty well

    The Bad:
    - Nothing really. But it seems there was some unnecessary killing near the end

I bought this film in a batch thinking it looked vaugley interesting and boy it is really quite a good film. I love it when a film surprises me like this. Loved the restriction of the film to mostly one space and personally think they should of kept it to the one space and cut the outside scenes. It really gripped me trying to work out who was on which side as they are trying to decifer the same problem themselves.

    @ rookie1987 review:

You basically said the movie was at best OK, yet you gave it 3 and a half stars? That doesnt even make sense. Youre rating would indicate that you thought the movie was GOOD.

I swear, there are ALOT of people on this site that have NO clue how to rate a movie. No wonder films that are really BAD still somehow get 4 stars...
