Slater is the quiet mopboy who rescues his secret crush from two assholes, and eventually they fall in love. There is a real sappy feel to their love affair, especially when Tomei speaks. I do like the movie, but it is cheesy.

I liked this one, the story was sweet and very low key, and I think Marisa Tomei was excellent in this I always wondered what happend to her career, its seems like she was there one day and gone the next, I recently saw her in Wild Hogs and she was charming as ever

Untamed Heart is an absolutely touching tearjerker romance...
plot:tomei plays a young outgoing person...who is nearly rape but saved by slater who plays a shy, outcast from her work, whos in love with..
it had some happy moments and some sad...but nothing compering to the end(tears)..
Slater and Tomei play perfect as the young couple who are deeply in love despite all the odds being against them...
This is a movie about true love, and their love was pure, deep, and amazing. I think it is impossible to watch this movie and not fall in love with Slater along with Tomei....

This is where my love affair of Marisa Tomei began. Saw this at the theater when it first came out and continue to love it. I've got more appreciation for Marisa's acting abilities in this one, too, as I've watched it in later years. When I first saw it, I was living in Minnesota (where it's based), and just thought that her character of Caroline was cute and wouldn't it be wonderful if I could be her Christian Slater. Now, though, having moved out of state and having developed an ear for hearing the Minnesota accent, I realize what a great job she did in nailing that accent. She sounded normal to me as a kid, and now I can appreciate why, because she picked up the "Yahs" and long "O"s of the accent, but without turning it into an exaggeration (like the wonderful "Fargo"). All the characters in this feel like real people, and it's funny, sad, and even frightening (the scene in the park is really intense). Oh, Marisa, you stole my (untamed) heart. Sorry.

These characters have such depth that, even though the plot is a bit predictable, you feel so much for them and by the end, you will be reduced to tears. If we've ever had our heart broken and as a result we try to 'tame' our heart so we don't get hurt again, this is the film we should watch, because it reminds us what love is, and what love can be. Any hurt that we may have felt is nothing compared to the joy we feel when we do get it right.

Well made romance movie that doesnt overdo the smultz. a romance movie between diff kinds of people and not the usual high rollers or pretty people. Well acted and a tear jerker for the ladies.

I hated the film even before i saw it. Once i actually saw it, I was nicely surprised. Intimate film that touches the heart. Its about how normal everyday people find love and sometimes lose love. Three leads does this sweet film justice.
