Okay, so "U.S.Marshalls" is basically just a remake of "The Fugitive". As such, it received lukewarm to cool reviews when it was in the theaters, unjustifiedly so, I think. Although the plot line is a ripoff of the earlier movie, this one does well in keeping us in suspense as to the story behind the central character, and the action is exciting and well-paced. Tommy Lee Jones of course "makes" the film, accompanied by the same cast of deputies as in the earlier movie. There are even "toppers" for the bus crash/train wreck and famous swan dive from the earlier movie. This is a very good escapist action flick.

the Fugitive sequel is lesser than it's predecessor in almost every aspect. the cinematography is cheap, the plot is dirivative, the 'fugitive' is a ridiculous-looking Wesley snipes. Even the addition of Robert Downey jr is poor. A good concept from a great film for a sequel based on a core team of supporting actors is wasted. This might as well have been the ppilot episode for a tv series.

This was a good action film. Tommy Lee is the best in this. He is still great as Marshal Samuel Gerard since this character was last seen in the Fugitive. It had some really good action scenes. The plot was okay. Not as as good as the Fugitive.

A fast-paced movie that still leaves room for the events and characters to grow.

The stunts are good, though not outrageous. People are not shot a dozen times and kept running; they fall after one shot and stay there.

Realistic, suspensful, and well plotted film. The catch isn't released too early, and the audience is kept in doubt for the last minutes.

"US Marshal Sam Gerard" (Tommy Lee Jones) and his team is back, this time, they're after a government fugitive (Wesley Snipes). Aiding them this time is a young government operative (Robert Downy Jr.), who volunteered to join the manhunt since the fugitive is accused of killing two of his friends and co-workers.

The movie is a one long chase, but it lacks any good suspense that should make the audience hold its breath in anticipation. Snipes makes his character appear to be a formidable foe for "The Big Dog" (a nickname of Jones' character mentioned in "The Fugitive").

One thing that will make you hold your breath is what causes the initial escape which begins "Gerard's" pursuit. It is simply spectacular, with quick edits to catch the action. In fact, the entire movie is filled with great editing that makes you keep watching.

The cast is great, with a special nod to Snipes and especially Jones. In fact, those characters who came from "The Fugitive" gets more development in this film thanks to the focus on the film is more on them this time around. However, the one with the most development is "Gerard," since he's one of the two main characters.

Eventually, this movie turns into something other than a cop chases bad guy movie, which will keep you watching. When the change occurs, you will be pretty surprised. You will also be surprised when two of the major characters are not what they first appear to be.

With exception of the incident which puts "Gerard" and his team in pursuit of their fugitive, none of the scenes are visually spectacular. However, they are all set up by the director quite nicely. The locations seen in this film is also used nicely, but nothing spectacular.

Despite what the professional critics said about this movie, "US Marshals" is a good follow-up to one of the best movies based on a classic US television series made to date.

U.S. Marshals was quite a good movie, it kept you on the end of your seat, I think they tried too much to make it like the Fugitive though.

Yes, there are some spectacular stunts and slick special effects sequences and yes Jones is right on the money, and Snipes makes a sympathetic fugitive...but...
I was hoping though for a solution to the fact that the hero seems to keep learning and then forgetting...The hero being Chief Deputy U.S. Marshal Sam Gerard, played by Tommy Lee Jones in a reprise of his co-starring role in The Fugitive. The fact that they made this quasi-sequel without its original star (Harrison Ford) is a tribute to the strength of Jones' presence in the earlier film, where he had more dialogue than the lead.

When a prisoner transport plane carrying Deputy Sam Gerard as an escort crashes, one prisoner, Mark Sheridan helps him rescue some trapped prisoners and then escapes himself. Gerard and his crack team of U.S. Marshals (Joe Pantoliano, Daniel Roebuck, Tom Wood, LaTanya Richardson, and Kate Nelligan) start their pursuit, but the simple fugitive situation soon gets more complicated when Gerard learns that Sheridan is no mere criminal and the story behind his incrimination becomes more and more suspicious. At the same time, Mark Sheridan is out to find out the truth himself while keeping one step ahead of Gerard. Robert Downey Jr., who has so far been little more than a hindrance in the pursuit, apparently in the movie only to provide a little edge to Jones' leadership role. Tommy Lee Jones almost always makes a movie better with his appearance, and "U.S. Marshals" is no exception. His role is about the same as in "The Fugitive". If you liked that one, you'll definitely enjoy "U.S. Marshals".

Not quite as good as "The Fugitive", partly beacuse Wesley Snipes isn't Harrison Ford (in acting and character abilities).

Not too bad for a sequel. I enjoyed Tommy's character from the first film so I was glad to see him again and Welsey snipes is cool.

I didn't realise this was even related to 'the fugitive' in any way until i just read the plot summary. I think it works as a film on its own and tommy lee jones steals the show.

Tommy Lee Jones is the reason to see this sequel to The Fugitive, and the strength of his character is the reason it was made.

A bad copy of the Fugitive. But if you don´t compare the two and will just see this one, it´s pretty good. A lot of action! But two things disturbs me. What happend with the injures? If I remember correct Marshal was shot and Wesley Snipes broke his arm! But after a while they run like nothing ever had happend. Strange, aha!!

It was a good film, but it lacked alot of the ingenuity of the fugitive, and while Snipes creates a decent character he's no Ford. Tommy Lee Jones cannot carry this film. Still worth watching

I've not yet seen The Fugitive yet so I couldn't yet say which one is better although by the way my friends have rated it, it is considerably better than this one. I'm a big fan of Robert Downey Jr. so it was great to see him in this. Because I have nothing to compare this to I'd say it was actually pretty good. Tommy Lee Jones gave a good performance and the plot overall was good. Robert Downey Jr. was great but I have to say I was slightly disappointed when he turned out to be one of the bad guys. Although his character was brilliant. A decent film that is worth at least one watch.

totally awsome, although this team seems to have a 2-0 record of tracking people who are actually innocent. i wonder if they ever track guilty men
