An adventure/action/drama ride done right. You really don't need to know anything about the novels to get into the film. Yoshiaki Kawajiri deserves way more credit as being a mere "cheap thrill" director. The guy knows how to create cinematic moments.

I love this series.. I wonder if there is an episode that tells of D's origins. I mean I know he is a descendent of the Pure Blood line, but why does he hunt?

October 20, 2006THIS IS MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE ANIME. It's a magnifiscent, dark love story. It has impressive animation, setting, characters, mood, storyline, EVERYTHING. It is a must see.
