Take the best part of the first Van Wilder (Kal Penn) and insert it into the traditional formula and you get this movie!!!! Some funny moments, but basically it was just a rehashing of the first movie with a different character. While not as good overall as the first, I enjoyed this one more...

MCT:March 14, 2008The first Van Wilder wasn't a masterpiece by any means, but it was amusing and had some memorably funny moments. As for the sequel... not so much. It didn't have any of the same appeal, and it turned out feeling more like another american pie spin-off than a sequel to the first. The jokes feel way too scripted and at times forced, and there's a lot of frat boy humor that just doesn't really play well for me. There were a scarce few funny lines, but I can honestly say that I did not laugh out loud even once at this movie. Don't waste your time on it.

A step above (in my opinion) over the first Van Wilder movie as we have now ditched the crappy Ryan Reynolds and the SHITTY Tara Reid to solely focus on silly-pants Taj (Kal Penn) who goes to an ivy league school in England where (GASP!) everyone is uptight and lacks fun!!!! Who saw that coming???? Anyways, hijinks, gratuitous sex, and drinking ensue. Now with more dog jizz as well. The only thing that really bothered me was keeping the Van Wilder name in the title; diminishes the movie quite a bit and is misleading.
