What a disappointment since the first one was actually kinda funny. Also it seems like some parts were just poorly done and why doesn't Van make a cameo or something?
This was actually funny, even amusing at times. Still... not nearly as good as the first one. Ryan Reynolds was definitely needed, don't get me wrong, I love Kal Penn and really think that he underrated, he is a brilliant actor and he definitely did the best he could with this, but Reynolds gave the first movie a spice that was missing here. Besides, the script here was really blah, and too cliché. Oh, and lets not forget the horrible cast, I mean, seriously? Lauren Cohan? She is incredibly annoying! Choosing Tara Reid again would've been a better choice than this girl. The group of misfits that accompanied Penn in the film was actually nice and sorta cute, but the dialogue and development of it all was lacking. Still, it had its funny moments and its a good laugh, but nothing more.
It was enough to keep my interest, even though I could understand all the British diolog. It was entertaining to a point, yet I thin they should have left it to the origonal with Ryan Reynolds. I pray there will not be a 3rd one.
My heart goes out to Kel Pen for constantly being cast in awful, B-grade comedies. But, none the less, sorry Kal, but this movie utterly fails. I do hope you finally get your break soon.
The first Van Wilder wasn't a masterpiece by any means, but it was amusing and had some memorably funny moments. As for the sequel... not so much. It didn't have any of the same appeal, and it turned out feeling more like another american pie spin-off than a sequel to the first. The jokes feel way too scripted and at times forced, and there's a lot of frat boy humor that just doesn't really play well for me. There were a scarce few funny lines, but I can honestly say that I did not laugh out loud even once at this movie. Don't waste your time on it.
What happens when u take the van wilder out of van wilder? There's no fucking movie! This is a blatant cash grab that has sullied the name of wilder. For shame national lampoon for shame.
I really want to see this movie. It looks very funny but it's a shame that Ryan Reynolds isn't in it to reprise his famous role as Van Wilder. But it should be funny.
I put off seeing this because, after 7 years in college, I was the *original* Van Wilder. For me this film gave me more nostaligia than laughs, but it's numerous funny performances keep the film entertaining.
Kal Pen is Back as Taj Mahal in This very funny sequel to National Lampoons Van Wilder this time Taj goes to a English University as a Lecturer and adopts a rag tag group of misfits and shows them how to get Wilder, along the way finding love of his own..
Same score as the first film. This was funny in parts but nothing that special. Taj is better in this than Van in the other one. Watch for a few laughs.
The concept is just too straightforward and simple that it hinders the humor Kal Penn brings in. The movie could have done without the forceful insertion of swear words just to sound 'cool' (it seems). The scene where Holly Davidson flashes in an attempt to win the badminton game is so unnecessary and kiddish.
Thought I would hate it but it was decent enough for what it was. It reminded me of all those 80s T&A teen flicks but they "British it up" more in this one. It killed some time during a boring night in.
Taj is a completely different character in this film than in the worst Van Wilder, and the film almost doesnt cotain Van's quizzicle sense of humor and funny whit. Its rather plan.
It's not the first movie but it is funny, nonetheless. Kal Penn does his best to copy the job Ryan Reynolds does with the original Van Wilder but the damn goofy accent keeps getting in the way. We are treated to some good laughs and a decent story and for us men we are graced with a couple of nice ta-ta shots if you know what I mean! Overall a funny movie, don't feel like I wasted my time with this one at all.
