This poor journalist messed with the wrong group of people. I would have given up after they shot me in the leg!

colin farrell was in this? didn't even notice him. must've been one of those effective performances. it's a bit of a weak 4 for me but it just about earns it with its realism and gritty disposition

Shocking Irish drama with the expected stellar performance from the talented Cate Blanchett. We've seen the 'troubled reported butting heads with corrupt organisations' story before, and this is no more interesting or even innovative, but the shocking final scene gives it some te...( read more)

AMAZING film about standing up for something when no one else will. It's called "mediocre" but I disagree; it's very very powerful, and Cate Blanchett is wonderful!.

Cate Blanchette is a reporter who will do whatever she has to get the story she needs.
Critic Reviews
A woman died that day in 1996, not a saint and not a symbol. Despite its excesses, Veronica Guerin comes tantalizingly close to introducing us to her. full review
Cate Blanchett plays Guerin in a way that fascinated me for reasons the movie probably did not intend. full review
Made gripping almost single-handedly by Blanchett's superlative performance. full review
A flat-footed, overwrought crusader- against-evil melodrama. full review
The film's laughably hokey and naďve coda leads us to believe that, as a result of Guerin's efforts, drugs were forever banished from Dublin. full review
[A] well-meaning but by-the-numbers biopic. full review
